So Much to Be Grateful For

Image
This has been a crazy week with some home renos going on. We were able to get furniture moved back and boxes unpacked just as Lindsey was getting home for thanksgiving! 🥰 We had Thanksgiving dinner at Chris and Bel’s. We had so much fun talking, playing Just Dance, and playing games.  We stayed up way too late every night. We watched movies and football. Ate foods Lindsey has missed while at college. We went to my parents to visit family there.  We just plain loved being together! As crazy as this month has been I have so much to be grateful for. The next month is going to be just as busy if not more so, but we’re all excited for the time of year.  #theresnoplacelikehome It was hard to say goodbye to Lindsey again but it helped knowing that she had made some good friends and was excited to go be with them again.

It's finally happening! We're getting new carpet installed in the house. It's way over due for it. The carpet we had put in the house when we built it was cheap carpet and we planned to replace it in 5 years. This February will be 12 years!  Like my luck generally goes, I went to order carpet in September with plans to have it installed in October. But the carpet I chose was on back order. Then when it was supposed to be shipped it was delayed another two weeks. So it took over a month for it to get shipped out. The carpet got in but then we were going to Jamaica so I got our house scheduled for as soon as we got back. We also had the stair rail changed so the bottom of it is wood and not carpet going around the side of the stair treads and glued on the wall like it was. The millwork was done first, took a few days, and then the carpet came in.  Jaime's parents are in town for thanksgiving and staying with our kids while we were in Jamaica so we had their help along wit

Celebrating our 20th Anniversary

December 2022. Marks our 20 years of marriage. We knew we wanted to go somewhere warm and tropical for our anniversary. And this year seems to be the year of crossing off bucket list items so why not check off another! I've always wanted to stay on an island in the Caribbean. Our 20th anniversary seemed like the perfect time for it! Brian and Summer were going to be celebrating their 15th anniversary in December as well. So the four of us decided to go on a trip together. Turns out traveling to a tropical country in December is very expensive! We ended up going November 9-13 instead because it was half the cost! We decided to go to Montego Bay, Jamaica. I'm so glad we did! It's such a beautiful place. We had so much fun.  Day 1: We traveled with Brian and Summer from Vegas to Jamaica. We had so much fun together. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort called Jewel Grande. It was very well kept and had a friendly staff, gorgeous beach, and excellent food. We stayed on the 8th
