Let's Party

Image
Everything set up at the food table. There was pulled pork sliders, chips, candy, and Italian sodas.  The inflatable bouncy obstacle course We filled the gym up with activities, dancing, food, and people! It looked good, after dropping half the lights and they shattered.  The birthday trio Parker, Olivia, Jakob Happy Birthday! They have such a great group of friends to hang out with. I'm so grateful for that.  Lots of friends and then the little siblings of the birthday kids enjoyed the night. DJ Mauia is great at running a party. He's the DJ and the entertainment.  He got the kids doing races, learning new dances, had some kids come up and sing, and encouraged other kids to get up and join the fun when they were just sitting in chairs talking.  And they're off! Running around to race to the end and tag the next person in line.  Time to sing to the birthday kids! We sang happy birthday three times, once to each birthday kid.  Olivia had so many of her friends come. She had

So many balloons! I'm so thankful we bought a balloon inflator! There's no way I could have blown up all these balloons. Already my fingers got real sore from tying them.  I'm excited the balloon garland came together pretty well though.  It took me two days to make them. About 2 to 2.5 hours a piece I believe. Olivia is happy with them. I'm hoping the party set up for her big birthday bash goes well. I'm in charge of decorations and the Italian soda bar, Kindra is in charge of getting a giant inflatable obstacle course, and Heather is in charge of food and the DJ. This is going to be a fun party for these 16 year olds! We head over to the church this afternoon to begin set up. Kids should be arriving around 6pm. The kids are all pretty excited about it sounds like. :)

Winter is Still Here

It wouldn't be February here anymore without it snowing! It seems like most years we get a good dump of snow sometime in February. Sometimes it doesn't melt all away until March!

Trying to get out of the pandemic hasn't been easy. Here we are in the year 2022. Happy Twosday Jaime and Bel ;)

Today's the DAY!

It's the big birthday! Olivia's friend Brinley was so sweet to put together a gift basket for Liv and drop it off this morning.  Olivia is officially 16 and now eligible to date. Her first date is with her dad.   There's no school today because it's President's Day so Jaime took Olivia out in the afternoon for a lunch date.  Headed out in the Beast of a truck to cruise to lunch.  Olivia chose Olive Garden because she wanted soup (Zuppa Tuscana soup), salad and breadsticks. You can never go wrong with that for lunch! One of Olivia's favorite places to go. She loves their macarons. Jaime was so sweet to take Olivia there to get a box of them.  Such pretty macarons!  For dinner she chose her usual of waffles with strawberries and cream. A hit for everyone.  After dinner was dessert. Cupcakes and macarons.  We missed Lindsey tonight. But this bunch of four here sure are great looking. I'm so glad they were here to help make Olivia feel special and celebrate her.

Celebration #2

We celebrated Olivia's birthday earlier this month with the Naylor family and today we celebrated Olivia's birthday with the Morales side. Martin and Diana and Bel and Chris came for dessert and gifts.  Bel sure knows Olivia's likes.  A bag full of yummy sweets. :) and a beautiful anklet.  And a pair of bright white Vans. Lindsey is so sweet. She wanted to get something for Olivia that would be a connection to the two of them. With it being Olivia's 16th birthday she'd be getting her driver's license.  So Lindsey got Olivia a key chain. But not just any keychain. One that references a show they love to watch together, Psych. It says "You are the Gus to my Shawn." Characters in the show. Super sweet idea Lindsey. <3 A pair of Nike shoes from Grandma and Grandpa Morales. This girl LOVES her shoes.

Weekends away

I love getting away for short stints of time with Jaime. No matter what it's for. This time we went to Spokane for the high school basketball regional games.  We had a good time at the games. With Jaime being principal we didn't have to pay to get in and give VIP passes to sit where we want. It wasn't really crowded though so seating wasn't a big deal. lol The next morning we wanted to try a new place for breakfast called People's Waffle. Jaime got the 90's kid peanut butter wafflewich. It was good. Sweet but very good. I tried the eggs Benedict waffle called the Benny. Looks amazing. But it had more paprika on it than I liked and I didn't really care for the combination. The waitress came and asked how it was. I told her I didn't care for it. She asked what else I'd like to try. So she brought it for me, no extra charge.  I got the Nutty and Nice one that reminded me of cinnamon and sugar toast or even a cinnamon roll. It was so good. I'm glad I
