When Some Things Never Change

Image
When we first moved in to our house Tyler liked the low window sill in his bedroom. He can see out the window easily and it seems to be the perfect place to drive his cars and trains.  While he doesn't do it as often as he used to, when I do see him like this like today I smile. He's always been good at playing by himself. Give him an automobile and he's good to go. The white baseboard trim has definitely gotten a beating from his cars and trains falling and hitting it. I've painted it and I'm sure it'll need it again. When he's past this phase then maybe we will put in new trim. But in the meantime, I don't stop him from playing at his favorite spot. :)

Olivia's Surprise

Image
I got a call that our friends Megan Anderson and her kids were in town. Adalyn was one of Olivia's and Emily Daw's best friends before they moved to Oregon. It was unknown to Emily and Olivia that Adalyn would be coming. Susi asked if Olivia could go boating with them and it'd be a surprise for both Emily and Olivia to see Adalyn. Olivia just thought she was going boating with Emily's family.  The Three Amigos! Standing by height but not quite by age. Emily is the youngest of the three.  What a fun surprise.

Camping at Lake Kachess

We've been wanting to take the kids camping this summer. This week was the only week we could get it in before Jaime headed back to work for the 2016-2017 school year. Monday July 25th we packed up the van, and when I say packed I mean PACKED! Having to take everything from home that you will need to live out in the open takes up a lot of space. Camping really is work. It's not like take a trip anywhere else where you only need to pack clothes and any other things you'll need. Camping we had to make sure we had all the dishes and utensils and soap and towels, lights, bedding, games, food, etc. Yeah you get the idea. It's a lot of work to go act like you're homeless. hahaha However, we were all looking forward to spending time camping together.  I will say that it is a very beautiful place to go and live without a house.  The first evening there we just played along the lake. Kids didn't really get wet. It was cooling down and I knew they'd b

Fun Week Back at Home

We're back home and missing Bear Lake. No one was really ready to come home. I'm surprised both Jaime and I weren't ready to come home yet. We had so much fun and wanted a few more days there. But now we're back home and enjoying our summer days at home with friends. Wednesday July 20th The kids spent swimming in our little inflatable pool and running through the sprinkler.  I like this shot I got of Tyler. They were done swimming as the evening was approaching and to dry off began running around the yard with towels like capes. It's the complete feel of summer...kids running and laughing outside in bathing suits.  It was really fun to watch out the window as they played make believe. Emily is the one with the entire head taller than my kids. hahaha Friday July 22nd We were getting ready to go out and surprise the kids with something fun when we saw the kids outside walking in the pool. Because Jaime didn't want to wait

Time To Say Goodbye

Grandparents with the grandkids. We cleaned up and packed up and took pictures to remember this beautiful place that was the center of creating beautiful memories.  It was a beautiful day...we could have enjoyed another day at the beach.  But we settled for swimming at the Oxford Suites in Boise. Mom and Dad are taking Emily's kids for the next few weeks so they were with us at the hotel. Dad bought dinner for everyone at Tucanos Brazilian Grill. It's probably a good thing this is the closest one to us. We'd eat there a lot more if it came to Pasco. ;) Olivia tried sushi and said it was pretty good. Not sure she'd ask to eat it again though.  The pineapple is always a big hit and one of our favorite things to eat there.  Tyler is a fairly picky eater. I was impressed that he was so good at trying new things here. Some he didn't like and I was ok with it. I was happy he was trying it. Cousins table! Aidan made a special
