Halloween Fun

Image
Lindsey had a ward Halloween party and she dressed up as a sugar skull. She did such a great job! She looked so cute. Everyone loved her costume she said.  Friday evening we drove to Grandview for the family Halloween party. I looked in the back of the car and saw a kind of creepy sight. 😂 Each family was in charge of providing a game and some candy. Lori's family did a which hat ring toss.  Elizabeth's did eating a donut from a string. It was a fun one to watch everyone do. Especially the race between Grandpa and James. James fit the entire donut in his mouth at once and bit down...was done. He won in an instant while my dad was still taking bites. 😂 We did the Oreo slide. Everyone got two cookies and had to slide them one at a time and get passed the tape to win a prize. If it went off the table they didn't get one. They could get one, two, or three candies based on where their cookie stopped sliding. It was a fun game.  Monday night the boys dressed up to go out tric

Jr Gravel Pit

We thought Tyler's football season would be done when we scheduled his tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. But the 7th grade Bulldogs made it into the playoffs and then won their first playoff game.  Saturday Tyler (#3) was finally feeling well enough to go to the game to watch and support his team from the sideline. Coach had Tyler go up for the coin toss. I appreciated his efforts to still include Tyler in the game somehow. Tyler loves this team.  The coin toss... The handshakes before the game.  This game was a big one. Pasco Bulldogs vs Chiawana Riverhawks, local rivals. Rivals in high schools here in Pasco as well. When Pasco High and Chiawana play their football game each year it's called the Gravel Pit game. The CBYF league liked the idea of calling Tyler's team's game the Jr. Gravel Pit and allowed them to have the game at the high school Edgar Brown Stadium at night under the lights. So this was a big deal for these boys! Also, this team has struggled getting th

College Ball

Lindsey had her last intramural softball game. She said it was a cold night! She did a great job pitching.  They had a lot of fun. Lindsey said it felt so good to be able to be on the field again. I'm glad she was able to do an activity that she loves so much.

National Principals Month

So proud of my hubby. He does amazing work in his profession. I'm thankful he's been able to be the principal of schools that my kids have gone to.

HOCO 2K22

Eli asked Olivia to homecoming by leaving this cute poster and basket of goodies in the dugout before practice one day.  The week of homecoming has lots of fun activities. Olivia signed up to play powder puff football. She had a great time! Jaime and I went to the game and watched it from the booth. Kinda nice being out of the rain. Luckily most of the rain had stopped by the time the girls played football but the boys volleyball game was outside and it was just raining! I'm so glad Olivia has been more involved in school activities. She's participated in other homecoming activities this week and she's had a blast doing it! This is what high school is! Olivia and Brynlee have so much fun together.  And this girl loves that her dad is at school with her. I know many kids would hate having their dad be the principal of their school but my girls have always enjoyed it no matter what school they've been at with him. The boys won't have Jaime as a principal until high s

Tyler's Sugery

Image
Tyler's snoring has gotten a lot worse this past year and I've noticed that he struggles waking up in the morning, his bed, is a complete mess in the morning, and he's tired often. I took him to the doctor to have him checked out. I knew that his tonsils were large just from looking at them and I wondered if that had anything to do with his snoring. Doctor agreed that they were large and said that his adenoids were probably large as well. Which would explain why Tyler always sounds congested! Tyler gets colds often, and it's guaranteed he will get a cold whenever a new school year starts. Just being among his peers again always gives him a cold. I learned that enlarged tonsils and adenoids can make you susceptible to respiratory infections! Colds! So Tyler was referred to an ENT. After seeing the ENT he had no doubt Tyler needed to have the procedure.   Tyler had his tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy yesterday morning. He struggled with letting the nurse give him an IV an

Making Headlines

The state superintendent Chris Rykdel came to visit Pasco schools. Jaime met him and walked around the school with him and a group of others. They're wanting to see how our district uses the dual language program. There were many good things said about Jaime's last school, McClintock. :) Jaime felt so proud knowing that he's the principal who set up the school and why it's still running so well now that he's gone. Because he had systems in place that worked. It's what he's working on now at the high school. It'll take a while but he's got good momentum and a vision.

Olivia's Heart Check

Image
Because of my congenital heart condition, coarctation of the aorta, my doctor recommended that we have our kids' hearts checked. Everything checked out good for Lindsey a couple years ago. Now it's Olivia's turn. She went in for her echo. We have yet to hear the results but I'm thinking that the longer it takes to hear anything means there was no urgency to call and let us know the results right away. I'm feeling positive that she's got a healthy, good working heart.

Go Bulldogs!

Tyler's last game of the season was today. They won big making their record 5-1. They're so excited to be going to the playoffs! They play the Richland Bombers next Saturday. Unfortunately Tyler won't get to play because he's having surgery this week. We're hopeful that he will be feeling well enough that he can at least go watch and support his team.

Go BYU

Brian paid for Lindsey to go to a BYU game in Provo. She got a ride to Utah with Brian's other niece Daphne and they stayed the weekend at her grandparents. Lindsey had so much fun at the game. It makes her want to transfer to BYU just so that she can go to the games. She loves sports and the atmosphere of cheering on a team. I'm so grateful Brian took the time to spend time with Lindsey. So glad they have that relationship where she felt comfortable wanting to go be with him and the family.
