Concert and a Movie

Image
Lindsey had a choir concert tonight. It was such a good one! I really am impressed with her choir directors. They make the program fun, keep it going to where it's such a large program, and it has really helped Lindsey to blossom.  Lindsey and Daphne are right next to each other. I like listening to and watching these girls sing and smile and sway during their favorite songs.  While at the concert Jeremy Anderson said he was taking his two older kids to see Black Panther and asked if Jaime and the girls wanted to join them. Well yeah! Our kids love to hang out together so it was a fun surprise for them. Even though it was a school night it's not too often they get to do things like this so I was alright with them going to the movie.  Alex, Olivia, Cami, Lindsey  I remember when they were all so little! Now they're on their way to becoming young adults. I'm not sure I'm ready for that!

Baby Girl's 12!!

We were able to have a birthday celebration with friends on Olivia's birthday. February 21st.  I let her pick a fun birthday activity. She chose to paint pottery at Polka Dot Pottery.  So many girls showed up it was wonderful. They made some real cute work painting the pieces the chose.  We did cupcakes after painting  Dear sweet Emily and Olivia. These two are the cutest sister friends.  Emily's mom helped her make this giant candy graham.  As soon as we got home Olivia was kidnapped by the Beehives and their leaders.  Olivia's first night at mutual was a birthday party in her honor with pizza and breadsticks. The breadsticks are Olivia's favorite. She's quite the bread lover.  Happy Birthday Olivia! You're going up to being a wonderful young woman. You're funny, caring, responsible, and yes - hilarious. I love that you're my daughter! It snowed today for Olivia's second birthday celebration.

Valentine's Day

I'm not really a fan of making Valentine boxes and having it be a class competition. Whatever happened to just stapling cardstock together and decorating it with cut out hearts. Now everyone needs a creative way to make a box then the students vote on their favorites. Then leave it to my kid to wait till the last minute to decide what she wants to do. Oh and guess what, I don't have cardstock or even valentines for her to take to school to hand out!! Being that it's the night before she has to take it I make a late night run to the store to go buy some. They're all out at Target other than some mini mouse which Olivia doesn't want. So I go to Walmart and am able to get some but even the selection was slim there. Jaime is out of town so I feel even more frazzled trying to get this stuff done. Thank goodness Emily came over to help Olivia get her box done.  Darth Vader And it does look very cool. Turns out her box was a winner. Way to go Liv! It wasn&#

100th Day of School

Image
I was invited to go to Tyler's class to celebrate the 100th day of school. The school year is over half way! The days just keep going faster and faster. I need to remind myself to take in this time with my kids. Tyler seems to have gone from his mischievous toddler self to this boy who has his own mind and ideas.

It's Derby Time!

The boys cars turned out great! We didn't have Uncle Darin here this year to use his cool tools to hide the weights on the inside of the car but the way the boys used their weights and painted them on the top of the car turned out to look really good! Tyler's red and blue Aidan went with red this year. Even the silver weight on the top look the car look pretty beefy. I am impressed with how well Jaime and the boys did.  Jungle theme backdrop is super cute. Of course my wild animals are as well  Aidan's car was awarded the judge's favorite.  Tyler's car was awarded "Most artistic" I prayed their cars would race well and they did. They never came in last in any of their runs so they were happy with that. They always got 1, 2, or 3. Great work boys!

Little Bit of This Little Bit of That

Lindsey, Emily, and Olivia at the skating rink.  It's that time! Getting derby cars made for the pinewood derby. Tyler is taking his task very serious. He's so excited for his first one.  Jaime doesn't wear hats as much as he used to but I do like when he does. :) Jaime's school had a family movie night. We grabbed Emily and went for the fun evening of watching  Wonder.  It's not too often to get to take blankets to lay out on the gym floor and have popcorn and snacks at school!
