Memorial Day

Image
This Memorial Day I felt overwhelming gratitude for those who serve our country. My recent visit to Bastogne and studying about WWII made me feel so much this weekend.  Over the weekend our kids spent time with their Morales grandparents which gave me time to rest and appreciate the history of our country. It finally hit. I got Covid which felt like a cold...runny nose/congestion and a sore throat one day. Very mild for me which I'm grateful. Jaime got it worse though. He felt sore and had a fever one day.  The kids slept in the RV and made s'mores for some at home camping.  They had a great time and even felt nostalgic and visited the dinosaur park like they would when they were little.  They had so much fun goofing around. Tyler loves dinosaurs so he was very happy to visit the park.  She looks like she's enjoying it more than when she was young. She can get it to rock more now. 😂 Aidan has sure grown a lot this last year. He's gotten so much taller.  Besties.  Maybe

Spring Sports

Tyler LOVES his team's mascot, Honey. He's playing 7 on 7 touch football and one of his teammates brings their bulldog to the games. She's a very friendly bulldog. Tyler goes up to see her any chance he can get.  He's a dog lover for sure. It's cute to see her wearing the same shirt as Tyler.  And now spring sports have come to an end for us. Tyler loved his football team and coach...and mascot. They had a great season and were ranked 2nd heading in to the playoffs. Unfortunately, they didn't play as well in the playoffs but the boys were good sports about it. Now Tyler's looking forward to and excited for fall to start up tackle football.  Aidan had his first season of track. He wasn't happy we made him do track but we felt he needed to do something more active for exercise. Guess what! He enjoyed track and plans to run next year. His last track meet he even got a new PR on the 400. Good job Aidan! I'm so proud of him for sticking it out the entir

We have a 10 graduating seniors from our ward! This is going to be such a fun graduation open house. And so much easier for us moms all planning it together! Still hard to grasp that Lindsey will be graduating from high school in a month.

Mother's Day

I love my kids. I love I'm their mom. I love that I am a mom. If could change my mind about being a mom it'd be a hard "no way." I love my bunch. I wouldn't trade them for the world. I'm so blessed they're mine I was gifted breakfast in bed and sweet gifts of jewelry and more from Jaime and the kids.  I feel so blessed to be their mama.  I feel like we all have a special bond. I've never felt like we have a house of constant bickering and arguing. I'm not saying they never do but it's rare. I truly have amazing, sweet spirited children.  The man who wanted me to be his wife and have children with. I love having Jaime by my side to parent with. My best friend and in it with me through it all. I'm living my life's dream. I love him so much and am so grateful for him. Truly my greatest blessing in life.  😍💗💓

May 5th Festivities

Image
The week of Cinco de Mayo the city of Pasco puts on a weeklong event downtown to celebrate. This is the first time we've gone and actually walked along the booths. We went with Dave and Meredith. We bought tacos for dinner.  Jaime bought me some cotton candy. The character shapes they made were so cute! This little piggy was the sweetest pig I've ever had. 😂 Dave loved getting piña coladas while we were in Cancun, so when he saw this booth with multiple drinks and samples he couldn't resist getting this piña colada in the pineapple after he tasted a sample. It was a very fun evening.

May 4th & 5th Shebang

The family likes to celebrate Star Wars day (May the Fourth Be With You). It's a fun tradition.  Some years I have put more effort and time in. This year I still pulled it off but really it was pretty simple.  However, finger foods are generally pretty easy meals to make. :) And after the 4th comes Cinco de Mayo! I really like the recipe I came across a few years ago for homemade enchilada sauce. So it's fun to make chicken enchiladas for me now.  This is probably one of my favorite days just because of the food :) I'm so grateful the family likes it all too! Spending time making these traditions are fun and something I can see my kids carrying on to their families as well.

Girls Euro Trip!

Image
Meredith Taylor, Amy Frederickson, Kara Bensfield (who moved to Luxembourg just before the COVID shutdown, have been planning this trip for months!! Our husbands were originally supposed to go with us. We had bought plane tickets too. But when COVID-19 hit our trip was canceled. We couldn't fly out even if we wanted to. So we finally were able to make it happen but it was a girls' trip instead. We texted back and forth with Kara discussing things we wanted to see and she came up with an itinerary.  This is a mostly what our itinerary looked like. We didn't do all of those things but we did most of them!   Our flight from Pasco to Denver was again delayed but this time only two hours and not three. The outlook of catching our connecting flight in Denver was not good. We literally got on the flight in Pasco praying we could catch our flight in Denver. When we landed Amy and I took off running to catch our flight. Denver airport is such a large airport and our small plane we t
