Happy Halloween!

The time has come for the cutting of pumpkins and wearing things we normally don't wear  and give treats and spooks to give others a scare! Our annual Witch hat cookies. So easy it's a piece of cake...but better. :) Aidan likes to unwrap the Hershey Kisses and pop one in his mouth every now and then. Then we deliver the goods secretly to someone in our neighborhood.  This sign has been going around. When you get Booed you make a copy, hang it in your window then it's your turn to drop off goodies and Boo a neighbor.  It's great to drive in our development and the majority of all the houses have been booed! What a neighborhood. :) Carving pumpkins This year Tyler really got to help. He lost interest after a while. His favorite part was seeing the end product. Go Huskies! Lindsey's pumpkin Aidan's has the "flaming'" eyes.  Olivia's is the scary insect lo

Princesses, Princesses

On October 20th My mom, Lindsey, Olivia, and I were able to go see Disney Princesses on Ice. I didn't tell the girls where we were going until we were headed out to the car. I was a little worried that Lindsey may feel she was getting too old for all the princess stuff. After seeing it myself, I don't think she'll feel too old for it. I loved it! Mom loved it! We had awesome seats where we were able to see it all.  Second row up please!  Look how giddy Liv looks. She just kept staring at everything in awe pointing out this and that. There were three princesses they told the stories about. Cinderella, Tiana in the Princess and the Frog, and Rapunzel in Tangled. Sorry for the bad picture quality. I had forgotten my camera and used my phone. Also when the actors were under the spotlight they were just whited out in the photo. Cinderella's coach Cinderella's castle. This is during the ball before Cinderella had to flee. Th

Our kids have gotten real excited about Family Home Evening lately. They like to do their part  in the weekly schedule of assignments.  This week Aidan was in charge of treats. We made spiderwebs! Here he's laying out the preztels in starburts. I used regular chocolate chips and mini chocolate chips for the body of the spider and piped  melted chocolate chips for the legs. They look pretty good. Everyone enjoyed them! Olivia was assigned the activity. She took this seriously and wanted something really fun. She came up with this "scavenger hunt" all on her own.  It wasn't really a scavenger hunt but that's what she called it.  She wrote directions on scrap pieces of paper and taped it to the wall. She made a trail of Littlest Pet Shop animals throughout the house. She said we were to follow the animals and when we got to a paper we were to do the actions that were written. Following the animal trail up the stai

That Time of Year

Image
October, that time of year when leaves turn color and start to fall, grape harvest is on, I turn a year older, and we plan a fun weekend getaway!  Yes I turned Thirty ONE-derful. The prime of life...or so they say. Whoever "they" are, but regardless, I'm feeling great about my life. Wonderful marriage, great kids, healthy, well established, great area to live in, great friends to be around, extended family close by...yeah I'd say I have it pretty good. On Sunday October 7th, Jaime asked me if I could have anything I wanted, what would I like for my birthday dinner. I said Mexican food sounded great. I thought it was just a question of wonder. On Monday I wasn't feeling up to making myself a birthday dinner, mainly because I made a great dinner on Sunday for Conference and considered that to be my dinner. As I wandered through the kitchen trying to look for something for dinner that'd be simple, Jaime came home with a $5 pizza from Little Ceasar's
