I Was Thinking of Someone Today

Image
Someone who makes me happier than anyone else! He's amazing. I think I'm pretty good too. But when we're together... We're AWESOME! Jaime, you're the love of my life. I'm so blessed to have you.  Love, Lisa

The First Day of School

Image
It doesn't matter how many times the first day of school rolls around or how many kids I have, sending kids off to school is always hard for me. It is fun seeing the girls excited about their new clothes and finding out who will be in their class this year but I don't feel quite the same excitement.  Last night for FHE Jaime gave father's blessings to the kids before school started. He gave AMAZING and such inspired blessings. Tyler asked for one also even though he had a hard time sitting still for the other 3 to have theirs given. Jaime even gave me a blessing. Even though I'm not going to school (thank goodness) I still can use the love and support that was given in the blessing.  After everyone received their blessing we knelt down and had family prayer (before treat. Heaven forbid we forget the treat! Aidan was sure to not let us). It was my turn to give the prayer. I cried as I asked our Father in Heaven to protect our children as they are away from our home

Swim Lessons

Image
(Just an FYI but you will probably need to click older posts to read all of my recent posts!) The kids and I spent a week (August 11-16) at my mom's so Jaime's cousin could give Lindsey and Olivia swim lessons. It was a great arrangement. They'd have lessons at 11 a.m. and I was able to can some beans.  They learned so quickly. Olivia prefers the back stroke and Lindsey prefers the breast stroke but they both did well in all the styles they learned.  Diving.  Tyler learned to go under water and hold his breath for a few seconds. He likes to wear goggles and go under water and wave to anyone under water with him.  Aidan and Tyler both discovered they could walk on toes in the shallow end. Aidan doesn't like getting his ears wet or his face. It was fun to watch him try to tip his head to the side to get his ear wet, just the lobe but he felt like he accomplished something.  I like being able to swim in the pool and not have to hold a little one. Weekend fun with Aunt Bel

Image
On August 9th I took the kids over to their Aunt Bel's house for some fun and a sleep over.  (Which means another date night for Jaime and me!) Her and Chris took them to see the movie Planes Friday night and spoiled them with a yummy dinner and lots of fun at a sleep over at their house. On Saturday they went to see Chris' delivery truck. Tyler is a huge truck fanatic. He calls all semi trucks Mack as in Mack from the Pixar movie Cars. They each got a turn in the orange "Mack." Tyler first! Lindsey Aidan Olivia ready to honk the horn.  With the kids being gone an entire week and then gone the following weekend made me see Aidan a little differently. He looks so much older, and taller! The other three all looked the same to me but Aidan I could tell is a boy and no longer a toddler. Tyler is my last "little" one and I do enjoy the moments of cuddling with him. During these days they've been away I've also spent more qual

Maritime Museum

Checking out the fish Aidan Levers, buttons, and switches in the tow boat tower. This boy was in heaven Marcus, Olivia, Lindsey Working on crafts and learning about living at sea. Tyler loved all the model ships. He liked watching the videos with the waves crashing around the ships.   We learned about the U.S. Coast Guard and some of their training is done right here in this area because the waters can be worse than anywhere else.  Marcus and Lindsey Olivia going for a tour of the ship. We all felt a little claustrophobic in the tight quarters. I love this photo of our family. It wasn't even set up. We all just climbed on and smiled for the camera.  After touring the ship we went to eat at Pig N' Pancake then Jaime and I said good bye. The kids got to stay the rest of the week with their parents as Jaime went to work and I...I did whatever I wanted. :) And this is what I did.. Tah Daahh! I painted and re

Let's hit the beach!

But first,  we stopped in to see Darin and Christy one last time before they moved to Kentucky. Talk about bitter sweet. It was great to see them but so sad knowing they were leaving. Good luck Darin at this new chapter in your life. Now off to Seaside to meet up with Grandma and Grandpa Morales. Storm and Tyler are buddies. The boys can NOT leave this dog alone. Outside movie nights were fun. It started when it was light but ended in the dark. Even Jaime's parents felt they were at the drive in. ;) Aidan is really good at making s'mores. He's a natural. He was making them for anyone he could. Yum! Aidan still making s'mores. Breakfast in the cabin.  Finally we made it to the beach! We couldn't ask for better weather. It's generally cloudy, windy, misty, cold and not my favorite of conditions. But this day was perfect. We spent the entire day running, playing in the sand, snacking, and visiting. Olivia. She&
