Our weekend

Image
Yesterday after the kids finished their chores we got out the Guitar Hero gear to rock to some music.  Tyler didn't play for too long. Keeping the rhythm was a bit hard for him to keep.  Olivia was awesome at staying with the beat. Natural she is! Earlier in the week I left a note on Jaime's car asking him out this weekend. I wanted to do something different from what we normally do, dinner or a movie. I enjoy those with Jaime but I was feeling like something new.  Jaime was great at letting me decide to go to a pottery painting shop. We picked a plate to paint. It took longer than I thought it would. We left 7mins till closing time! After Polka dot Pottery we did a bit of shopping and browsing...something we're good at. 😉 This date was so much fun and may be one we do again. A week later I went to pick up our plate. We made a birthday plate for the kids to use on their birthday. I'd like to go again and do a bowl and maybe a mug to make

This past week...

I've welcomed the hotter weather. I took the boys to the splash pad to play for a couple hours. They loved it! They stayed in the water the entire time. I thought they'd be in and out of it but they stayed on all the water toys.  Aidan got water squirted in his eyes... twice! He came running over for a towel. I told him to just wipe his eyes with his hands or his shirt. He realized that it actually worked so he turned back around and ran to play. hahaha They had a blast squirting each other, and anyone else who came nearby. I enjoyed watching my cute kids while I lay in the sun. :) I went to a Relief Society Activity where Susi put make up on me to demonstrate and give tips to other sisters who came.  Lindsey had her orchestra concert. She does so well. She looks so grown up too. I love the violin but I don't think she will be sticking with it. It was a good opportunity for her to try it out without a cost for us. She doe

Memorial Day

Image
We didn't have plans for Memorial Day so we planned something just a couple days before. What started out as just a small BBQ ended up with 24! Bel and Chris, Marty and Marcus, Ruben Morales and Family, the Ritchie family, the Daw family and us.  I was a little nervous we wouldn't have enough food so I was pumping out any side and salad that I could. I made pulled pork sandwiches and Jaime grilled hot dogs. Others brought salads and fruits as well.  Olivia and Emily are HAMS! They are so funny and know how to have fun. These two neighbors are in the same school class, church class, and now Activity Day group. Olivia  is a month older but Emily is a whole head taller. :) I love these two. They're almost inseparable.  Tyler couldn't get enough cupcakes! I made red velvet cupcakes, with white vanilla frosting and blue sprinkles. We needed some sort of patriotic colored food. :) Our BBQ was originally planned for 5 pm but Chris couldn't come bec

Life in the stress free zone

Since everything was done with the reception all sorts of time and relaxation came in to play! I've been playing with my kids, sewing, hanging out with friends more often, etc. With the school year coming to an end I just want to spend more time with them it seems.  Jaime has been setting up the tennis net quite a bit doing tennis drills with the kids. They really enjoy it.  Pajamas make awesome tennis attire! For an activity day Lindsey's group used tissue paper to design modest clothes. Lindsey and Daphne paired up to work together.  Lindsey designed Daphne's… and Daphne designed Lindsey's! Her leader told me that Lindsey really enjoyed the activity. Lindsey said her favorite part was designing. Her leader told me that Lindsey and quite the knack for it.  Lindsey received a HAAP (Hispanic Academic Achievers Program) award. Right now the younger kids just get an award but the seniors get scholarships. Some received $9,000-$13,000 do

Lori and Stuart's Wedding

Image
Lori and Stuart got engaged on Valentine's day. It was the day after or so that Lori asked me to plan her wedding, do the decorations. I was excited for it and grateful she had the faith in me to be able to do it in a way that she'd be happy with. I was constantly thinking wedding stuff. At the stores, "hmm could I use this?" or wondering where everything will be set up and if it'll go up as smoothly as I envisioned it. I even did the backdrop in my dining room to see exactly how it needed to go up. I liked finding things I already had in my house to be able to use to make things a bit more budget friendly.  If I wasn't doing decorations I was talking other wedding ideas with Lori. We met several times to discuss and go over and shop and do dress fittings. I helped arrange photography and flowers as well. On Friday May 8th I went to Aidan's school for his Mother's day Muffins with Mom. As soon as I left his school I headed to Prosser to help
