Happy Thanksgiving!

Image
We celebrated Thanksgiving at the Morales' home in Grandview. We didn't get to celebrate together last year. Bel was so sick last Thanksgiving. We all have to much to be thankful for this year. I'm so so so thankful Bel is as healthy as she is now.  Lots of food! Jesse and Christina Palacios (Jaime's Uncle and Aunt) were there, Aunt Mary, Amy, and Timmy. Amy is sitting behind Timmy, she didn't want to be in the picture.  After dinner Jesse and Christina and Mary, Amy, and Timmy left. The rest of us played Spanish bingo, watched football, looked at black Friday ads, and visited.  Chris was sitting with Lindsey and learned about American girl dolls.  He does such a good job at showing interest in the kids and caring about what they like.  Bel and Diana I love this picture.  The twins! Me, Bel, Aide Happy Thanksgiving. I hope my children will think of things they are truly thankful for as they get older. Not a da

Grandpa's 90th Birthday Celebration

Mom arranged a huge family birthday party for Grandpa's 90th birthday. Emily and Jeremiah and their kids came, hoping to surprise Mom and Dad but Dad saw on Facebook that Emily was on her way here. They arrived Friday evening in time for dinner. After dinner we went to My Fro Yo for dessert. Darin met us there. After frozen yogurt we came back to the house, put kids to bed then visited.  This was how we visited while Emily was up putting her kids to bed. I sat there on the couch, trying to talk with them. So I pulled my phone out, Jeremiah laughed thinking all of us would be sitting there looking at our phones. Nope, I got my phone out to take a picture of this. Kind of funny. Sometimes people are looking at something on their phone that they're using to talk about what they're reading on the phone. That doesn't bother me. But this evening I felt like I could have gone to bed and no one would know I'd left. I'm trying to do better at not looking at my phone

November Weekend for Spending Time

Image
Thursday November 10th was Trimester break day for the school district so the kids didn't have school and Jaime didn't have to work either. Friday was Veteran's Day so the kids had a longer 4-day weekend. Mom didn't get to spend a week with the kids at her house in the summer so she was excited to have them for a few days. I appreciate that Mom drives to my house every week to give the girls piano lessons on Wednesdays. It's a half day of school so she's able to come in the early afternoon for lessons and get home before dark. I'm hoping to find a teacher locally to take the girls to but all I find are teachers with waiting lists, they're moving, they ask for outrageous terms and conditions, or they're in questionable areas where I don't want to be going. So, anyway, on Wednesday Mom came for piano lessons and after lessons she took the kids home with her. I've been trying to get over a cold so having the kids gone let me have a quiet house
