Snow Inside?

Image
As if we hadn't just had snow...Tyler and Olivia opened up a package of faux snow. Just add water and then it's snow! Looks just like it.  If you're wondering if it feels like snow...no it doesn't. haha. It's made of the same little Orbeez balls but flakes so when you add water it's the same gelatinous feeling. The kids just fiddled around with it for a while. It's more for looks I think. But it was cool to watch it grow.

Wrapping up Her Last Season of Wrestling

Image
We got the girls' pictures from their senior photo shoot.  Tamina, Brynnlee, Olivia, Georgia They're such a cute group. I loved seeing their pictures.  Olivia and Brynlee...they're a good pair of friends.  Such a beauty! Got the pictures in and posters made just in time for Senior Night! Now she has a life size poster of her for softball and wrestling! Ha! Olivia separated her shoulder just 5 days ago at practice. I actually blame the coach. He had her wrestle "live" with a girl who is 20 pounds heavier than her. There's a reason there's weight classes. It's one thing to do drills or show how to do moves when they weigh differently but to go full out in a match with that large of a difference is so wrong. And the girl she was wrestling with is a lot more seasoned in the sport. So when she went down on her arm it she immediately felt the pain. We were luckily able to get in to the orthopedist within the week to where he confirmed our thoughts. She'd

Senior Night Prep

A bunch of the senior moms got together to donate items and assemble gift baskets for all the senior wrestlers. It was fun to visit and laugh and talk about how the season has gone and all that we'd gone through to get things ready for senior night. I tell ya, those posters...a bit of anxiety for the mom of the boys wrestling team and the mom for the girls...me. lol But we got it done. The moms love the girls posters. They were super impressed with how they came out when Jaime brought them in to show them. So seeing and hearing everyone's expressions and thoughts made me feel like all the stress was worth the effort. Now it'll be fun for the wrestlers to walk in to the gym and see their posters up.

Snow Day for School AND Church

Image
We got a bunch of snow! It was a nice day to stay inside. School was canceled but Jaime still needed to go in to work. So the kids and I stayed warm inside, played games, watched movies, and I baked fresh bread.  It was good to have then interact with one another without having a screen in front of their faces.  I've always loved snow days. It's not like I have to go anywhere anyway but I like the change in the week of having the kids home when normally they'd be gone.  Saturday night we had freezing rain. A lot. Just before I went to bed that night I checked my email and I'd received an email at that instant from the bishop. Church would be canceled the next morning for our entire stake. It's not often that happens! We didn't mind the cancelation because we now have 8:30am church. It's nice to get up whenever you wake and have a good breakfast with the family.  Tyler being on top of things woke up and showered and got ready for church before anyone saw him

Duel vs Pasco

Team captains out to start the match.  She's better at pulling the moves she wants.  Got the pin! Way to go Olivia! And in a few days she heads off to Kelso for that giant tournament!
