Mel and Tim are Back!

Image
My Aunt Mel and Uncle Tim recently came back home after serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Florida. They came up to visit a week at my mom's. I couldn't let this chance to see them get away so we drove down a day before they were leaving for home so that we could see them.  Tim pulled out his accordion and played some fun polka songs and music. The kids immediately jumped in dancing.  Then Aunt Mel and my mom jumped in to teach the kids a dance that they learned in elementary school Do-see-do with your partner Even Lindsey joined in the music playing and her and Uncle Tim played a duet together.  We've happy to have you back Mel and Tim. I can hardly wait till you come back later this month. :) We will have to see you more than just one day during your visit.

A Few Reasons I Love My Family

Image
We have large get togethers for everything… Jaime's Grandma Morales' 75th birthday party was celebrated by many relatives.  When my kids watch a movie that they have toys of such as "Cars" they get out the toys to reenact the movie as they watch it. Aidan and Tyler are such good brothers that they give a hug every day before Aidan heads out to school. My boys have wonderful laughs and if I can be a part of why they are laughing it's even better.

My First Turkey

Image
I had a turkey in my freezer and it needed to be used. Sorry to admit it but I have never cooked a turkey before. I never needed to! Well we got to talking about it with Jaime's mom and she said she'd help me make one and we'd have everyone over to help eat it! So, when would be a good time to have everyone over? No better way to get Jaime's family around than to plan a yummy dinner and watch the Seattle Seahawks play! So the day was set for Saturday, January 10. Everyone says that roasting a turkey is easy. I never believed it was hard I just never had tried it. Sure enough, it was easy and it came out perfect!  The meal was so delicious and we had so much food and dessert. It was nice to divvy it up and send some left overs with others.  I've got to admit, it was a lot of fun to have everyone dressed up to show their Hawk pride. It just added to our fun little "party." We were missing Chris though. He misses out on a lot of our fun

A New Year

Image
We started this new year a bit on the quiet side. My mom had asked if she could have my kids over night on New Year's Eve and have a little party with them. We had plans to be with friends that evening so it worked out to let the kids stay at moms. Sounds like they had fun.  Jaime and I went to see a matinee and after it was over we had Famous Dave's for dinner with the Ritchies. Then we just visited, hung out and played games to ring in the new year with them. Happy New year! On Friday January 2nd we took the kids to the Carousel of Dreams. I had gotten a deal for half off a gift card and rides. They each rode 3 times.  Boys...they really are best friends.  Lindsey was a good sport and climbed on a horse each time another kid got on the UW husky before she could.  However her patience paid off! Olivia isn't a WSU cougar fan but still wanted to get on the cougar instead of a horse for a ride.  Even though it just goes round and round, it really is a beautiful piece of artwo
