McClintock Stem Elementary

Image
Wednesday evening the We ice shaved ice truck parked in Jaime's new school parking lot for a fund raiser for the PTO. A percentage of the sales went to the school's PTO. We went to support and enjoy some cold deliciousness.  After we finished eating Jaime gave us a tour around the new school. It's a beautiful school.  Go McClintock STEM Owls!! (I'm a fan of the yellow and gray. Jaime did a good job picking these details don't you think? Colors, mascot, logo.) There have been so many major changes thrown at Jaime to deal with in the process of this school getting here. I can think of about 6 pretty big ones off the top of my head and I know there's been dozens of small hiccups. He's been amazing at dealing with it all. It's definitely been a very stressful year. He's looking forward to kids being in the school and the school year getting started. This past month he really hasn't b

New Do

Six weeks ago I got my hair cut just above my shoulders. I was working my way up to the shorter style I'd been wanting for some time but too scared to go through with it. It's true, it'll grow back so... Wednesday I had her cut it shorter. I love it! Not sure how long I'll keep it...ok I need to rephrase that. Not sure if I'll continue to keep it short for an extended amount of time. Shorter cuts need to be cut more often to maintain the look. I'm usually a  "go every few months to 6 months between cuts" kind of person. Also, I'm not sure how well I can handle a cold neck in the winter. :)

Oregon Coast Trip 2015

Image
The kids made the annual trip to the Oregon Coast this year. With their grandparents only...we didn't go for even a couple days this year. With Jaime's new school getting ready to open he's been swamped with work and couldn't take any time off. The kids didn't complain though! Or Jaime's parents. They were all looking forward to it. The morning the headed out! The boys wanted to help Grandpa hook the trailer up to the truck but he had them stand back. I'm sure it won't be long till they are right there helping him. They stopped for lunch at Burgerville.  I love Olivia's face. Kind of says, "Whazzup, I'm enjoying my Tillamook cheeseburger!" :P The Walla Walla sweet onion rings are Lindsey's favorite. I believe she had this picture taken just to make Jaime and I drool. Biking and walking Storm are regular activities while camping at Fort Steven's. They had one day of rain so they st

Birthday!!

We celebrated Diana's birthday August 1st by going to dinner at Bob's Bugers and Brew. (we always pass on the brew 😁) She's a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. I've grown to love her so much and am thankful everyday for them, their family, and raising Jaime the way they did. I pray someday they will come back to church and be sealed in the temple and Jaime can be sealed to his parents for all eternity. It'll be a positive impact on us all in the eternities.

Next Stop, Portland

Image
On Friday we left Roseburg to head to Portland to see Uncle Dave, Aunt Chris, Jessica, Tony, and Jazmine. On our way there we stopped in Eugene to have lunch and visit with Chad and Megan and their family. They moved from Pasco a while back and we've missed them so we couldn't pass by and not say hi! Chad had left for work already so he's not in the pic and Jaime was kind enough to take it for us.  Ad and Olivia. These peas have missed being in a pod and playing any chance they could.  After our farewell we headed on up to Portland.  Jess had been recovering from being sick (she worked herself so hard the week before at the reunion I think it caused her to drain out and catch something). She was too kind to still make us dinner even though we said we'd bring it. We had planned on staying the night and going to the zoo with them Saturday and heading home Sunday in time to be home with time to change and make it to church at 2:30. We decided to head h

Enjoying What Nature Has

Jared took a day off work to take us up to South Umpqua Falls. It was a drive to get there but totally worth it! It's absolutely beautiful! The water just trickled kind of, over the slate hillside. It just covered our feet when we walked on it. It was very slippery in spots. Water socks would have been ideal but how often would we use them? I did find that keeping my flip flops worked like a charm! carefully walking in to the cold water. This little pool area was where we did the swimming. It had a small current through it so kids could be pushed along by it in the water. Pretty fun.  Tim and Jared next to the falls. Olivia being careful not to slip! Whenever someone slipped it did worry me some.  Jaime helped Tyler float in the current. Then when he hit the end of it he'd go back to the top and float it again. I floated it with Tyler too but he didn't have the inner tube when I
