Start up the school year 2012-2013

School's in session! August 28th was the first day. Wednesdays are early release days so it was good to start Tuesday, then have a half day, then on Monday there's no school for Labor Day.  Helps to ease them in to the weeks of school and less summer play. :) The girls LOVE their teachers. I'll admit I do too. I'm looking forward to seeing how this year goes for the girls in school.  The 1st grader The 3rd grader So what are my boys doing now that it's just the two of them... now that Liv goes to school all day? (I found out that low-income schools have all day kinder so the elementary school that Olivia had for kindergarten was only half day. The End of Summer Fun?

Time to end our summer activities and get back to school schedules and consistent bed times...well more consistent bed times. Here's just a quick summary of some random summer activities we did on the side of all our vacationing. Filling water balloons Grandpa time Summer soccer Road trip in Grandma and Grandpa Morales' TRUCK Boys' rough housin' (I love it when they get along and play together) Boys and bake time Girlfriend hang out Juice stand  (they made over $10 at this stand! A Week Without Kids!

Our family takes an annual trip to the Oregon coast with Jaime's parents and extended family every year. This year Jaime had to be to work during the trip so he and I didn't go. Jaime's parents gave us a gift. They took the kids on vacation with them for a week! What would I do for a week without kids to tend to? I'll tell you!!! I was looking forward to being able to get things done around the house without any  interruptions. I had things planned that I wanted to do.  I painted the boys room and redecorated. It's not completely finished until we get the new bed. We got an awesome deal on it and I'm excited for it to be set up. I also refinished Aidan's dresser. It's an old dresser that was given to me when Lindsey was little. I sanded it, filled in the holes from the old handles, cleaned it, painted it, put a glaze on top, then I put on a nice satin top coat. This is the first time I've refinished furniture. I really like t
