Our Little Thanksgiving that Felt Big

Image
I got a massage at a chiropractor's office and a few days later I got a call that the massage therapist was diagnosed with Covid-19. So I went to get tested 5 days after exposure to see if I had it because I wanted to see my sister and family during thanksgiving. My results were later than normal getting in. I felt fine but I wasn't going to go anywhere in case I was carrying the virus.  I spent the majority of the day before Thanksgiving in the kitchen. Lindsey joined me in the evening. It's more fun working in the kitchen with someone else.  I made pie, rolls, and cinnamon rolls I've gotten pretty good at making cinnamon rolls. They're so delicious.  This is the first time in 18 years that we haven't spent Thanksgiving at one of our parents houses. As I celebrated with my own little family I still felt as happy as when we were with extended family. Things we did today brought my thoughts to many thanksgiving memories. The food, everyone helping in the kitchen,

When in quarantine...kids find things to do in the house. Today they made a fort. I spy Jaime in there too!

Back to School IN School

Today was Tyler's first day of in person-blended learning-half day- cohort B School. lol So crazy. He goes to school for three hours Thursday and Friday then does online zoom on Mondays and Tuesdays. Wednesday is just a work on your own day at home.  There are fewer kids at school, desks are all spaced apart to maintain the 6 feet of distance away from each other. Temperatures are checked every day before walking into the school and masks are worn the entire time. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a book. These things we're dealing with now in our daily lives seem to come from books and not really real.  In spite of it all, Tyler was so happy to be among peers, even if they do have to stay 6 feet apart and can't see each others smiles. He loves being with friends and teachers.

Hooray for Aunt Bel

Bel had the girls spend the weekend with her (Nov 13-15). She had good food and treats for them. They enjoyed hot tubbing and facials. The girls needed a change of scenery and something fun to do. I feel like weekends like this for them help rejuvenate them.

Some Outdoor Fun

Tyler was invited by Andersons to go play flag football. He LOVED it. With covid shutting everything down it's made it difficult for him to be able to get out and play with others. It's nice that some activities are starting back up again.

Testing the Camera

I got a new iPhone 12 Pro. I thought I'd take the kids out and take some photos in hopes to use them for our Christmas Card.  They turned out so good! I loved taking pictures of my girls and boys.  They seemed to have a lot of fun too. so adorable These two! Olivia had grown into a beautiful young woman.  Those baby blues :) So handsome My baby is not a baby anymore.

Halloween

We had a fun halloween weekend. We celebrated with family on Friday night was a beautifully decorated dinner and fun games at Mom's house.  Lindsey was a 1920s flapper Olivia and Aidan had creepy white masks and dressed in black (Aidan had a skeleton shirt on) and topped in a fedora. Tyler was an inflatable dinosaur Friday night then wore a blue skull mask Saturday while trick or treating.  Mom did such good job decorating. We had taco soup for dinner. Elizabeth brought some fun games. This bones in the bag game was a lot of fun. We had to just shake the bags and determine how many were in each back and put them in numerical order before your opponent.  pumpkin bean bag toss Olivia and me (I was Captain Marvel) Jaime the pirate and Madelynn the pumpkin we had to get the cookie from the forehead into the mouth without using hands.  Jaime won I struggled. It was quite the scene let me tell you. LOL We had to hold the tongue depressor in the mouth then line up pumpkin candies on it an
