Happy Halloween

Image
We squeezed some time to carve pumpkins just before Halloween! This was the first year in a while that no one wanted to use a stencil or pattern and just free hand their pumpkins. They turned out great. The best part, the kids are getting better at being able to do their own pumpkins. They get a sense of accomplishment when they do it on their own.  Ready for trick or treaters! Those light up ghosts were a big hit. Everyone loves them. I had many people compliment and comment on them when they came to the door.  My little monsters. Jaime took the boys along with Olivia and Emily. Lindsey is now so grown up that she trick or treated a bit with friends then when to Kellen's house for a halloween party. I'm sure that's the first of many to come.  The usual end to our Halloween night. We watch Hocus Pocus while the kids dump out their candy and trade what they want with each other. What they don't want goes back in our candy bin to hand out to t

Newest Nephew!

Aide delivered Liandrew Morales on October 29th 12:51 am 8lbs 3oz 21" I love his chubby baby cheeks!! Marcus tried to get a bit of rest while waiting for his son.  We waited at the hospital for about 5 hours for this little boy to make his first appearance. We waited in the delivery room with everyone until it was time for her to push. I was with Lindsey and Olivia in the waiting room and Jaime and taken the boys to his parents house so they could rest. After Liandrew was born Jaime and his dad woke up the boys and we all got to see him just minutes after his birth.  The first cousin my kids have on the Morales side.  Everyone is smitten with a baby.  Jaime is so good with babies. I melt every time I see him loving on a baby and talking to them like he did with Liandrew.  Tyler, my baby, loves all babies. He loved getting up there and meeting Liandrew.  He's the second little baby to arrive in our family this year!

Let's Play

Image
School starts and so do the sports. Tyler has been doing flag football and Lindsey has been doing her favorite, volleyball. One of my favs as well :) Tyler has done well at being quick. He's made some touchdowns, pulled a few flags, and learned to just plow forward rather than running backwards to avoid the defense.  His last game of the season was rainy. It didn't phase him one bit! He was out their running and playing and laughing with his friends like it was summer time.  Lindsey has really improved this year. It's been fun watching the girls be able to volley more.  She was happy to be able to get a jersey this year and be able to play other schools. She picked number 1 for her jersey number.  Her serves have gotten much better. She still has to serve underhand but she's been able to have some strong serves that gets the team multiple points.  She's quite the hustler. I'd totally sign her up for club volleyball if they didn&#

What's Happenin'

Just a few updates on what's been going on around here. It've been busy with canning. I haven't can much in the last couple years so I have lots to do.  I did 40 quarts of applesauce.  30 quarts of beans and 43 quarts of tomatoes. Not as much as I wanted but It's enough for a year at least. That's what matters most right? :) Lindsey did volleyball again this year and loves it just as much. She has really improved from last year. The games were more interesting to watch with the girls being able to volley the balls a bit more. Lindsey can get some good serves in as well.  Lindsey LOVES choir. This cute girl really didn't want to do it. Try out for the treble choir but I kinda forced her to do it. And she's said multiple times that she's so glad I made her do it.  She's had day long choir festivals where she gets to sing with multiple choices around the area. She enjoys that. Learning from different directors and singing in l

Ward Halloween Party

Image
We had a lot of fun at the ward Halloween party.  Jaime and I aren't big in to dressing up. It's enough effort for me to make sure all my kids have costumes. So when my friend says they have costumes we could borrow I jumped on that. Easy peasy! And we're dressed up! Sam, My little she devils, and Chewbacca Tyler's costume looks the best in the dark so when we went outside for the trunk or treating portion of our ward activity his costume really shone! He was Sam from the movie Tron. This costume was all Jaime's idea. Win for me!

Aide's Baby Shower

Image
Bel organized and put together this amazing shower for Aide. Having so many family members nearby makes it fun to do family showers like this. It'd be fun to do with my family if we had enough around. I thought it'd be fun to do one for Elizabeth but it didn't seem right for me to host a shower for her at my house when all her friends are in Yakima. Who would want to drive almost 2 hours for a shower? And if I did a family one it would just be me, mom, and Lori. hahaha So I was glad a friend of Elizabeth's put on a shower for her that I was able to go to and support her. And a month after Elizabeth's shower I attended Aide's shower.  Bel went with a jungle theme. How cute are those cupcakes! No I didn't eat one. I was tempted to just because they were so cute but I knew I wouldn't enjoy it all that much.  I supplied the jars for the drink guests wrote funny bits of advice on the diapers for Marcus and Aide to read when they ch
