Gathering With Friends

Image
Before Potter's headed on their way back to Idaho after staying with family and going to TOFW they stopped in to see us! The kids had so much fun. Even though they don't see each other very often I do like that they can get back together and have a good time. Accepting one another as if they've been hanging out all the time and know all about one another. We talked about getting together this summer after Corinne has her little baby. That'll be fun.

Time Out For Women

Image
This year Time Out For Women came to Pasco! No traveling to Spokane, no staying in a hotel (which is the fun part along with eating out.) Instead Mom, Elizabeth, and Lori stayed the night at my house after Friday nights session. Then Saturday morning we drove the mile and a half to the venue! I love hanging out with Lori. We have such a good time. We've always been pretty close. Probably because we shared a room all growing up and played together all the time. Those bonding moments and memories don't just go away because you grow up.  Little Jocelyn got to tag along with Elizabeth. Lori's little bun in the oven is cooking quite nicely and is making his appearance very visible anymore. :) While I was there I ran in to Corinne Potter! The Potter family moved to Idaho but we keep in touch occasionally so it was a fun surprise to see her here.  And while I was at it talking to Corinne I had to bring her over to see Carina. :) These beautiful ladies were wo

Playing Dress Up

The new Avengers Infinity War movie came out. We planned to go watch it with Jeremy and Carina Anderson. Some how Jeremy said we have to dress up and we just went along with it! Starlord (Jaime), Black Widow (Lisa), Captain American (Jeremy), Scarlett Witch (Carina), and Spiderman. Who knows who he really is. Maybe he's the real Spiderman. When we walked in he was already in the lobby and was excited to see us and took our picture with us. It made for more fun.  Black Widow and Starlord Jaime even found a real Walkman to borrow for the costume!

Musically Kids

These two, Olivia and Emily. They're peas in a pod and inseparable. I love how opposite they are in height but they act as if they don't notice. They're sisters at heart.  I went to the school to watch Olivia and Emily play the marimba.  Lindsey had another choir concert Olivia also had a choir concert. She had a solo singing "This Is Me" from The Greatest Showman. She did so good! I teared up watching her.  I enjoy that my girls love to be part of music and that they make music a part of them. If they aren't performing musically they're always singing or listening to music but most of the time they're singing along to music. :)

Sports

Image
Spring time means lots of sports for us and managing schedules.  Aidan has lacrosse and Tyler has baseball. They both really enjoy it.  When Tyler has baseball games they sometimes will line up with Lindsey's tennis matches down the road at the middle school so we can easily watch Tyler's game and when it ends we make it down the road to watch Lindsey.  She really enjoys tennis. It's fun to watch her and see how she's progressed. She was moved up to the more advanced team which totally made her day. :)

On the Way Home

Image
We stopped at In-N-Out to get some yummy food on our drive to Idaho. We like to break up the drive from Utah by staying in Boise. 1.) We always stay at the Oxford Suites and 2.) We always eat at Tucanos Brazilian grill. Their glazed grilled pineapple is one of our favorites.  Aidan could eat this pineapple all day. :) After dinner we let the kids go swimming While the adults play Skip-bo. It just adds up to being part of our trip rather than a long drive home.

What We Like to do in Utah

Image
We like to fill our days with so many things to see when we go to Utah. While we were there we also went to Heritage Park (Or This is the Place). We've come before when the kids were younger but they still wanted to go because they had so much fun the last time we were there. Even I wanted to go I thought it was so neat.  This ship turned out smaller than the kids remembered. Or perhaps the kids are just bigger now ;p Spinning thread The old school house.  The kids received short lessons and learned what it was like going to school in the early days of the saints in Salt Lake. Even learned how they punished.  A short lesson on the Deseret Alphabet was given. Tyler showed what he'd learned.  These tiny cabins that entire families would live in is really a humbling thought for me.  Doing laundry We couldn't go without Brigham's Donuts! They'r so good warm and fresh.  Learning how to walk on stilts.  Laundry
