Tyler's Goal

Image
Tyler has made some goals in the Children and Youth Program that the church has implemented this year in place of scouting and personal progress. His spiritual goal is to read The Book of Mormon all the way through. He's been seen reading it a lot lately. I'm impressed with his desire to accomplish this. I know he doesn't understand it all but the more often we read the more that will come to light. Tyler is very spirited and this is something he's gotten in his head that he wants to do. I love it.

For the Love of Pigs

Image
Lindsey has a stuffed pig that she got for her first Christmas from Great-grandma Naylor. He's been named Oink. She still has it and loves it just as much. Because it's such a beloved stuffed animal you can imagine how less fluffy and scraggly he looks. Well one day I went to lunch with Mom and Dad at a local restaurant. In the waiting area is a small gift shop. Mom and I saw this cute pig and couldn't believe how close he resembled Oink! Same size and shape even. So we put our money together and bought the pig for a special time to give to Lindsey.  The time we decided to give him to her was when she got the phone call that she didn't get the part of a local play that she had auditioned for. She has never been in a play before so I was so impressed with her ambition to try something new and scary like this. But the news was depressing and heartbreaking for her. I felt it was a good time to give her a little "pig-me-up." Her tears turned into sweet

Helping a Friend

Image
Cami Anderson wanted some help getting ready for her Winter Ball. Lindsey and I were both more than happy to help. Doing hair and makeup are fun for us. We were in Grandview for Jaime's grandma's birthday party. We just waited for Carina to let me know when Cami was home from a wrestling tournament. Lindsey and I walked into the bathroom with our tool box of necessities and got right to work. Cami was so cute saying how she had no idea how she wanted her hair or makeup. In the first picture she looks pretty unhappy but that's her explaining how she feels about doing makeup. :) The dad's came to watch and visit some and be encouraging as we were working.  Lindsey was so cute to tear up as she saw Cami all dressed up and ready to go. Almost like she was watching her baby grow up. I'm sure Carina and Jeremy had those feelings. Watching these girls grow up just feels so crazy that they're teenagers.

Dancing Around

Dancing to "Just Dance" It's fun to watch them and it's fun to join in.

Score for Volleyball!

Image
We still go play volleyball with friends every Wednesday night at the church with friends. I look forward to it every week. It's always a running joke that if you hit the ball and it ends up going in the basketball hoop that's been moved up out of the way it's an automatic win.  Well last night it finally happened! Sometimes it's been close when someone shanks a ball and it goes towards the hoop but this time it happened to go in the hoop. No one aims for it but sometimes we get a rogue hit and it flies that way. :) Last night Dave made the lucky shot! And since he made the "winning" score we started scoring from 0 again. It's just a fun house rule that makes our play time a little different.
