Football in Full Swing

Image
Tyler is so excited for football this year. He is so motivated and puts in the work. Goes to zero hour weights every morning before school and then has football practice after school. His days are pretty long but he never complains.  They had a scrimmage at the stadium tonight to prepare for their first football game. I stayed to watch. Tyler is number 57 this year. I have a feeling it's gonna be a good one!

Making Time

Image
Back to school and back to busy schedules. We made sure to get in to the temple this week before things really pick up. I still feel it's such a blessing that the boys WANT to go every month! Not once has one of them said, "Can we just skip it this month?" I love that about them!

Back to School

Image
The night before School... Back to school father's blessings. Tyler wanted Koda with him for some snuggles during his blessing.  After the boys received their blessings we had fresh peaches and cream for dessert! Can't believe this kid is on to his second year of high school. Tyler loves it. Don't believe him when he says he doesn't. The kid is so infectious that everyone loves when he's around. Students and teachers! He's gonna have a good year. He'll be turning 16 in December and then will be excited for his time to drive himself to activities.  It's even scarier to think Aidan will be graduating an a year and a half! June 2027 will be here before we know it.  He's ready to take on CBC running start college classes as well. It's nice they don't start until September though so he will get a couple weeks with his two classes at CHS only.  Then this guy can hardly wait for the boys to get home from school! He just lays his chin on the windowsi...

Promptings

I went to the temple today to do an endowment session with my Aunt Laurel who is visiting and staying at my parents for a few days. Mom and Dad were leading the session so it was fun for all four of us to be in there. It was a very full session of women. There were 31 women and 8 men! 39 of the 40 seats were full. I've been in sessions and lead sessions that had 42-46 people (folding chairs were brought in to accommodate after 40). But never have had this many sisters.  I used to have such anxiety going to the temple. So nervous about remembering what I was supposed to do and say. Being a temple worker definitely has helped ease that now that I know what to do and say more easily. It makes it so that I can focus on the words more and not stress about what's next. After I crossed into the Celestial room I had the overwhelming feeling of how happy I felt. The thought came to my mind, "Being prepared makes such a difference." I thought yes it does! I felt better prepare...

St. Luicia Island High Adventure

Image
August 6-9th They boys went on their high adventure trip to kayak through the San Juan Islands and camp and hike on St. Lucia Island. They left early in the morning then got on a ferry to take them to the islands.  Dylan, Addison, Bro. Kubalek, Taylor, Aidan, Bro. Brown Bro. Kubalek, Javis, Tyler, Peyton, Dylan Tyler had a lot of fun with his friends fishing, swimming, hiking and playing games.  Aidan enjoyed most of his time but he did come down with something the last night there. I felt so bad when he got home and I saw how miserable he was. But up until then he was having fun.  Henry, Tyler, Dylan, Peyton, Javis. Aidan loved climbing through the rocks (caves) and slot canyons.  Tyler and Javis They had beautiful views, weather, and sunsets they said.  While kayaking they saw lots of seals.  They played survivor games and had some good gospel applications thrown in. It was a lot of work for them but it was a good spiritual and physical experience for the...

Time with Cousins

Image
Brian and Summer went to Europe to celebrate her 40th birthday. Their kids flew up to Washington to stay with my parents and a couple days with us. The kids had a good time getting together and being able to play games, dance, and sing thanks to online music trivia games. It was so fun to watch them play. We even got out our game buzzers so whoever could buzz in first got to give their answer to the question.  Enjoying eating from the taco/nacho bar we set up. I love when we can eat outside. I'm so grateful for our covered patio!

Good pup

Koda knows he's not supposed to go upstairs. So often he will wait at the bottom of the stairs for me. I looked over the railing and saw him like this. He looks like the saddest puppy, trying so hard to wait for me and trying not to go up the stairs but pushing it by resting his head on the stair. haha He's just too cute!

Diana's Birthday

Image
Generally Diana's birthday happens during their trip at the Oregon coast. But because they're going to start going earlier so Liandrew can go (because he starts school in August.) the trip was over before her birthday. They still got to go out and celebrate though. There was just less of us around to celebrate with her. We're so grateful for the wonderful mother and grandmother she is.
