The Last 4 Weeks

Tyler is four weeks today. He smiles quite a bit, it's adorable.

It has gone by pretty fast but been very busy all at the same time.
After Tyler was born we celebrated Jaime and his twin sister's birthday on the 21st and after that of course was Christmas.

My entire family was in town for Christmas. I was so excited to spend it with all my brothers and sisters.

The gifts under or should I say around the tree. It took hours to open them all.

We stayed the night at my mom's so that we could all be together Christmas morning. On Christmas Eve it's a tradition for our family to some how read, sing, or act out the Christmas story. This year all of the grandkids played the parts as my Dad read the story out of the scriptures. Lindsey was Mary and held Tyler for the baby Jesus. She did very well and he slept of course. My brother Darin played Joseph to help hold Tyler and mainly because Lindsey's cousin Jacob didn't want to participate. Olivia was a wise man (she was happy to have a container of gold) and Aidan was a shepard. That silly kid thought he was the star of the show. He kept walking around stopping at cameras and smiling for them. Summer had put his costume over his head like a shepard and he surprisingly left it on. I think he thought it was funny so left it on.

After that Santa came to visit and give the kids their annual Christmas Eve gifts, new pjs.

Tyler was blessed at church the following Sunday. It was great to have so many of our family there.

We were planning on spending New Year's Eve with my parents and sisters but we got hit with snow and new that our car wouldn't make it up my mom's driveway well and we didn't want to shovel our driveway or take Tyler out and hike through the snow so we stayed home.

We had our own party with goodies and board games and playing the Wii. The girls thougt it was great. We did have a really good time. It was difficult for me to stay up till midnight as I was exhausted but I was able to get my first kiss of the year and then I went to bed. Crashed as soon as Tyler was done feeding.

During this commotion of new years and snow, Aidan was sporting a very high fever of 103-104 and his ear was bleeding. Yes he had an ear infection. So bad none of the doctors could see where it was his ear was so blocked up with gunk. He was taken to the ER, given meds, didn't work, I took him for a follow up check the following Monday and he got new meds. He was doing so much better in just 24 hours of his new meds. He had to be on that for over a week (today is his last day of it yay!). He is now back to his happy, silly self and enjoys helping look after Tyler.

So battling a sick kid and a newborn wasn't too fun. Thank goodness Jaime took time off for a week (but that was when we had all the flooding so he didn't relax any either), his mom took a week off and took the kids to Chuck E Cheese's and had them over to her house some so that I could get rest. With three other kids I can't really nap when the new baby naps like they say to do.

Lindsey lost her second tooth on the top and is now toothless and missed the window to sing "All I want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth."

So, here we are in the second week of January and things are back to normal. Jaime's back to work, Lindsey is back to school, Aidan is finally better, and Tyler is still just eating, sleeping, and crying when I don't know what else he needs. :) I'm exhausted all the time but don't go to bed too early at night because I enjoy the quiet time and visiting with Jaime.

What a way to end the last year and kick off the new. Happy New Year!

  1. Oh my gosh, I can't believe Tyler is already 4 weeks! The time has flown by. Christmas looks like it was a lot of fun. Too bad all of that drama had to follow soon after. I'm glad things are calming down for you. Goodness, I need to come by and visit and take pictures of Tyler. I should have done it earlier, but I guess it probably wouldn't have been very convenient earlier. Anywho, we need to chat and catch up.
