Lindsey's Senior Trip

Bel and Chris's senior gift to Lindsey was a trip of her choice. She has been wanting to go to Nashville and Memphis for a long time. Dreams do come true.

Airport shenanigans. #movingsidewalksarefun On our way to Nashville!

Elvis sighting!

Walking Nashville we enjoyed the sites and could hear music from every bar/restaurant you walk by. Sometimes the music just sounded like a bunch of kids pounding on drums in every direction. lol

Walking around down town was so fun. I loved this shot of the lights. You can see the Johnny Cash museum and the Sun Diner we ate at.

There was so much to see in Nashville. We hit up the Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnny Cash Museum, Music City Walk of Fame, Jason Aldean's restaurant, Music City Tour Bus, Casa Rosa - Miranda Lambert's restaurant, and just the streets with constant music playing was a treat. It really is music city. I love it.

This museum was so neat. Glad we were able to go see it.

She fell in love with this poster so Grandma bought it for her.

The music tour bus was so fun! We learned so much about this city and Elvis and many other artists.

Dinner at Miranda Lambert's.

Lindsey was so excited to eat at Elvis Presley's favorite restaurant.

She reserved his booth. The booth he always sat in when he went. She was so cute to dress up for this.

Her post on instagram was reposted by Arcade restaurant.

Visit to Sun Records. Elvis's first recording company. Elvis recorded his first song here. It was so cool to hear the history of the place and see exactly where Elvis and so many other great musicians recorded music.

Jerry Lee Lewis burned his cigarette into the piano to mark he was there.

Playing on the piano of legends.

The girls played some on Jerry Lee Lewis's piano, and we all got a turn to "sing" and hold the original mic that has heard so many songs.

I was literally watching dreams come true for this girl. She's wanted to visit Graceland for so long and now not only does she get to see it but she gets to stay in the Guest House. It's all so glamorous.

The gift of a lifetime. I love them for giving this to her.

The hotel was beautiful.

Replica stairs that are in Elvis's mansion.

A pink limo picked us up and took us to Marlowe's for dinner.

Riding in the back of the limo.

This restaurant is also one Elvis visited often and the place was decked out with Elvis memorabilia.

Marlowe's was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The beef brisket was so tender and melted in your mouth. So good!

It's here! Time to get our passes to tour through Elvis's mansion.

Upstairs was off limits. Only his daughter goes up there to his room.

Elvis's resting place.

It was such a cool tour.

With our VIP tour we got to sit in this lounge with pics of Elvis and some of his personal items.

This briefcase was his portable phone! It's a rotary phone at that. :)

Coolest wallpaper ever.

We were allowed to touch one of his guitars...with gloves on of course.

I've been an Elvis fan since I was young. Only my immediate family knew that for the longest time. So coming to Graceland was a cool bucket list item for me.

After touring the mansion and property we went to the many museums in Graceland. It's set up like a small town. Like going to Carsland at California Adventure.

Elvis had sooo many cars. I didn't know this but at one time he had a car dealership, Presley Motors.

Yeah even the Rock likes Elvis.

peanut butter and banana sandwich, just like Elvis.

Such a cool place to see.

We went to see the Mississippi River. It's such a big river. And kinda dirty.

While in Memphis we saw this large pyramid and realized it's a giant Bass Pro Shop! It's also a hotel/lodge, aquarium, sporting goods store, gift shop and multiple restaurants all in one.

We enjoyed browsing and looking around and ended up eating at Walburger's Wild. Mark Walburg's family restaurant. It was very good.

We went down Beale Street to check out the stores. We were literally given the once over by metal detectors. The girls had to be carded and in the presence of a parent and I had to show my ID that I was their parent. After we got through I realized why. It's a big party. Lots of drinking and smoking in the streets. We walked down one way and back up another and only stopped in a couple stores. Then we were ready to go.

When we got back to the hotel Lindsey wanted to walk up to the mansion and see it in the dark so I walked up with her.

Pretty all lit up.

The music gates.
In the morning Lindsey wanted to walk up to the mansion when the gates were open so she could take a letter to place it on Elvis's grave.

She loved the trip! She can hardly wait to go back again some day. I have no doubt that she will make there again. I love this girl. I love her passion for things she's interested in.
