Christmas lights

Image
Before Christmas we made the time to go see the Senske light show again this year. The kids think its great. Aidan wanted to go see it again the next night. There's something about seeing lights flash, run, and blink to the beat of the music. It's something the kids look forward to. A fun tradition.

FYI

Since it's been so long since I've updated my blog due to space that I have now added many posts.  8 to be exact (This makes 9). So scroll on to be sure to read them all!  This year is almost over and then I'll print my blog book for 2012! Seeing all my memories in hardcopy is so much better than just having them digitally. I highly recommend it. :)

Not A Baby Anymore

Image
My baby is technically no longer a baby. Sunday December 16, 2012 he turned 3! Happy Birthday Tyler! This little squirt has sooo much energy just bursting through him. I think he must be some spiritual giant that just has a hard time being contained in such a small body. He weighs 32 lbs His favorite color is blue. Any blue truck or car he sees driving he calls his. He likes to look for and count cement and dump trucks while we're driving. Just a short trip to Target we can spot at least 5 cement trucks! Any semi truck he calls "Mack" from the movie cars. When we're in the car he likes to point out the different colors of "macks" that he sees. He can burp on demand better than most adults I know. (gross, I know) He's obsessed with his red blanket. He likes to rub the crochetted edges on his fingers and cheeks He jumps right in to Sunbeams in a few short weeks, January 6th! He did get to go to singing time in primary on Sunday to introd...

Wedding Bells are ringing?

Image
Instead of Christmas bells lately we've been talking about wedding plans. Bel and Chris are getting married in February and I've been lucky enough to help Bel. I went wedding gown shopping with her. I love seeing all the dresses. I enjoyed seeing other women trying on dresses as well. When I post her wedding then I'll show you her wedding dress. These are just a few of the pictures I took. She tried on so many and it was really hard for her to decide. She had a tough time choosing between 3 and then finally 2.  I'm so excited for her and Chris.

Preparing for Christmas festivities

On Black Friday Marcus and Miranda and her sister crashed at our house around 3 a.m. after doing lots of shopping Thursday night and Friday morning. It was good to see them and visit for a bit. Olivia and Miranda making muffins on Black Friday. On Saturday the 24th we had a busy day. I went to the temple in the morning with my sister Elizabeth. I took her to lunch at Famous Dave's since she'd never been. Of course I bought some ribs to take home for Jaime and the girls. :) We spent the rest of the day prepping to entertain guests. I had decorated the house for Christmas already and Jaime and I put the lights on the house Friday.  We had Jaime's parents, Marcus, Miranda, Bel and her fiance Chris, and Chris' parents Sharlotte and Richard, brother Charlie and his family over for a huge dinner at our house. We had such a wonderful time. There's lots of visiting to do when there's 20 people in the house. It was great to get to know Chris...

Giving Thanks

This Thanksgiving was so much fun.We had the usual yummy foods but this time we put together some activities. We all heard how Hostess was closing and Twinkies sky rocketed in price. Lori jumped on it quick and bought a bunch of boxes and Darin and Mom went and got some as well.  The plan...build a Twinkie Tower. It's on Lori's bucket list so if she was going to do it  now was the time. Lori, Jaime and Darin came up with strategies of how to get the job done. Lindsey and Olivia liked to watch the progress. Someone's excited it's working! Getting there! Mean while, Grandma, Mom, Lindsey, Olivia, and I worked on making some Christmas ornaments for those we visit teach. Pretty glitter but in a clean manner of decorating! We put the glitter on the inside of the ornie instead of the outside where it falls off and gets everywhere. Definitely a fun girly craft. Mean while...it's getting taller and wanting to fall. ...

Veteran's Day

Image
I had the opportunity to go to Lindsey's Veteran's Day assembly. It was put on entirely by the 3rd graders. It was BY FAR the best Veteran's assembly I have ever seen. They sang very well, had a wonderful slide show, and sang and honored every branch in the service and recognized many veterans who were there. There were so many people who cried or teared up. The music teacher they have does such a good job with these kids. I was very impressed, as was my mom who was able to come watch.  Lindsey, you were shining like a star as you stood there singing and doing actions and smiling! You did a great job. She still walks around the house or will be doing something and start singing these songs.  I love to hear her sing.
