Lindsey's 11th Birthday

Image
Her Favorite breakfast…french toast! Lindsey asked for a Ripstick. I was nervous for her to ride one. They're pretty tricky! But it didn't take her long at all to get the hang of riding it. Now she zips around like nothing.  Lindsey wanted to hike Badger Mountain with me. It was a cool, misty, drizzly morning but that didn't stop her from getting up early and walking.  Lindsey LOVES to climb trees. Reminds me of myself. I liked climbing up high and looking around. Every time we go to my mom's Lindsey is up a tree…literally. :) Sometimes I think she's too young to be able to be climbing so high but when I think of what I was doing at her age…I knows she fine and can handle climbing a tree. It's just hard to see she's getting more independent and able to do more on her own without my help. She's growing so fast! Next year she will be going in to the Young Women program at church. Wow…doesn't seem like that lo...

BYU Theater Ballet

Image
Since I was in Spokane I wouldn't be home to take the girls to the BYU Theater Ballet that same Saturday. Lindsey had asked me if we could go and I thought it'd be fun to go to lunch and the ballet together just me and my sweet girls. Then I realized that it was the weekend of TOFW so I asked Bel if she could take the girls for me and I'd buy the tickets for all of them. She was more than happy to and Lindsey and Olivia are always happy to spend some time with their Aunt.  Not only did Bel come over that Saturday afternoon but Jaime's parents and brother did as well. Diana cooked up some Spanish rice and yummy tacos for everyone to eat. (When I got home later that night my house still smelled like delicious tacos. They even saved me two!) Bel helped the girls get dressed up. The theme was "Fairy Tales and Fantasy" and kids were encouraged to dress up. My girls wanted to dress as princesses and took their matching stuffed princess dolls with them. Lindsey ...

Time Out For Women 2015

Image
I was lucky and so very grateful to be able to attend Time Out for Women in Spokane this year. The theme was "Living Proof." Living proof of God's love and plan for us. As always, the speakers are wonderful and inspiring and the music is beautiful and touching. It was in a different venue so I wasn't too pleased to have rows and rows of chairs instead of theater seating because someone is always taller than me and sits in front of me making it difficult to see. But really all that mattered was that I could hear what was being said. There were so many wonderful lessons and stories that touched my heart. Me, Jodi, Sarah, Celia I had asked my mom to go but she didn't think she'd be able to so I went with a group of friends. Later mom asked if I wanted to go. Since plans were already made and hotel booked with my friends I was sorry to tell Mom that I wouldn't be going with her but it was great that I could still be with Mom and Elizabeth at the con...

Can You Believe it's Been 9 Years? Me Either

Image
Olivia turned 9 on Saturday February 21st. We took the kids to Dairy Queen on Friday night and let Olivia take friends. It was low key but it was something different. Saturday morning she picked pancakes for breakfast. The rest of the day was pretty normal and hard on Olivia as she anticipated family coming and opening gifts. For a moment I wondered if I should have done something birthday-ish for her during the day. Only a moment though because then I remembered the huge "Frozen" theme party I put lots of effort and time in to last year. Then I thought about my birthdays and how the day always seemed slow and boring and I could hardly wait until the evening to open my gifts. I do remember one birthday where I opened my gifts early in the morning before Dad left to work. :) Back to Olivia, she did have her friend Emily over the entire day. These goof balls crack me up. Family came around 2 to celebrate. I think all my kids like the feeling of sitting on the floor...

Mission STEM-Possible

Image
The girls STEM school put on a fun science night at the school. It was in conjunction with the science fair. Olivia did a science experiment and put it on a display board and everything. It was up on display this night as well.  We went from room to room throughout the school doing different science experiments and activities and seeing different jobs people do.  Aidan and Olivia had friends from their classes there that night and we found out they (Jon and Jazmine) are siblings. Their dad couldn't make it so it was their mom, Bea, with the kids just like us. She and I and our kids all stuck together for the night. It worked out when we both had kids who wanted to go do different things. She'd go with them and I'd stay with the others. So it was nice we both had another adult to help keep an eye on the kids this busy night.  Checking out the rabbits in the "Vet" room Bearded dragon in the "Reptile" room Making pa...

I Love My Valentines!

Image
This year Valentine's Day was completely full of Valentiney festivities.  It started with the kids finding their Valentine gifts from Jaime and I. The girls received a Beanie Boo stuffed animal and the boys got Magformers. Then we had a yummy breakfast of Stuffed French Toast. After kitchen cleanup everyone got showered and dressed to go out and make some Valentine deliveries. Jaime came up with a wonderful idea of buying a dozen roses and handing one out to people the kids chose. They each got 3 roses and chose three people to give them to. They chose friends, church teachers (present and past ones) and neighbors. We drove around town delivering flowers.  Although Tyler looks extremely nervous or scared he was excited to give this rose to Christina our neighbor. She wasn't there so her son took it for her and she received it later that night when she got home. She came over the next day to thank Tyler for it. He likes to talk to Christina when she's out in ...

I'm Lisa and I'm a Target Shopaholic

Image
I love to shop at Target. I think I'm going to need to be careful once Tyler starts school. I'll be heading to Target a bit more. :) The kids have begun to like Target too and like to go browse with me, sometimes. As long as it's not too long, and we always have to go through the toy aisles. I follow a few different sites on Facebook and Instagram that are all about Target and sales and deals. This helps me to know when things are on sale so I've been pretty lucky with some of the items I've scored. Lots of clothes on clearance, things for the home, food, outside toys, toys and toys! Plus with my Cartwheel ap on my phone I save even more! I have a stash of toys that I got cheap for gifts for the kids or for gifts for birthdays my kids are invited to. I can't lie, it's pretty exciting to me. Hehehe I have purchased clothes for next Christmas! Clothes for Aidan to grow in to also. I didn't think I could get this crazy. I like to shop and I like ...
