A Morales Minute

Spring Break kind of hit at a good time of year for us. It was right after Bel's surgery. Since the kids didn't have school and Jaime didn't need to work Jaime and I were able to go stay with Bel to help care for her and Chris could keep working and not take any more time off work. Mom so kindly took the kids for three days for us. They had so much fun.  Playing with play dough Lindsey likes to be artistic with painting and other fun art projects.  Aidan and Olivia played with the dentist play dough set. That's one long green tongue! Olivia's amazing cupcakes. Lindsey must be missing winter already. Look at that snow man. :) They had a picnic outside. Kids love to eat outside.  And of course the real baking.  Apparently it got a little cold for them. We've been having such warm weather that I didn't pack jackets for them. Bel was nervous but anxious for the surgery to be over with. The night before I had this prompting that I wanted to send her something uplifting to read before she went into surgery. So Monday evening I searched online for Ensign articles that I thought would be good for her to read that night. I came across one titled "The Lord Has Not Forgotten You" by Linda S. Reeves 2nd counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency. After I sent it to Bel it wasn't long after that she text me to tell me that it was exactly what she needed to hear. She was home alone and crying as she was getting ready for bed. I'm so grateful the Spirit helped me find just the right message to send to her. I had trouble sleeping that night. I kept thinking about her and worrying. The next morning she told me that she actually did sleep pretty good. My prayers were answered that she would be able to rest. :) Tuesday morning she went early to the hospital at 6 am for her 7:30am mastectom...

We colored eggs Thursday evening. I had bought this set of spill proof containers on clearance a couple years ago. They worked pretty good. No dropping the egg in and colored water splashing up. The green one did leak out the side. The lid was a bit bent so it didn't have a tight seal. Glad I put them on a tray or that vinegar would ruin the table. 😁 I loved the pearly ones. They were made by putting the pearl dye in a baggy and rolling the egg around around in the bag. I like that there wasn't any colored water that could drip and splash onto things. We have the Easter Bunny come and fill baskets on Friday evening so Saturday can be the fun filled "commercial" stuff of Easter. The kids woke up and found their baskets full of goodies.  They broke into the play dough right away. Lindsey and her Uncle Chris have quite the relationship. They are so funny together. They can just sit and visit and have a good time. They can also really tease each other and make the other laugh so hard. It's hilarious to see Lindsey interact with him. I'd say she seems more mature getting on so well with an adult but I think in this case Chris acts a little immature. Hahaha They like to be goofy I took this picture on Olivia's birthday when I saw they were the only two sitting at the table having a fun conversation. I thought it was so cute.  And on Lindsey's birthday party they were sitting together again having a great time. I love this picture. 

On Sunday the 13th we had our monthly family Sunday dinner at my parents and combo-ed it with celebrating Lindsey's birthday.  She has a pair of boots that she loves to wear and they definitely look it so I was excited to find a good deal on some new ones for her. Can you tell she was excited to get some? :)  Her birthday was Friday March 18 and it also happens to be parent/teacher conference week so school's released at 12:30 everyday. I planned Lindsey's birthday party for Friday after school at 1pm.  When talking to Lindsey about what she wanted to do anything I suggested she wasn't over excited for. I asked her what she really wanted to do. She said she'd really like to go swimming. Enough said! I knew what I'd plan. I found a hotel that would let me pay to take the girls swimming.  I made scavenger hunt cards for the girls for the drive to the pool. They got to keep the multicolor gel  pens and a cute tin with chocolates....
