Sweet Suite!

Every year we take our annual trip to the Oregon Coast. This year we decided to cut the drive in half by staying in Portland two nights. It made the drive easier and we got to do some school shopping for Jaime and Lindsey. The girls abolutely LOVE staying in hotels. Jaime, being so smart and wonderful booked a presidential suite at the Double Tree across from the Lloyd Center. This way we were able to put Aidan to bed in our room, close the door and let him sleep and the rest of us could hang out in the livingroom until we were all ready for bed.

We had two bathrooms and one bedroom. The girls slept on the hide-a-bed couch in the living room. There was a balcony in both rooms. It was fun to go out and look outside at everything. It was during their big heat wave so we went swimming in the pool as well. Speaking of swimming. The bath tub in our bedroom was huge. It was a jacuzzi tub that had a bench in it. I filled it up to the bench and it was still deep enough for the girls. I had to step on the bench in the tub to be able to reach the girls to wash their hair. I put Aidan in and he was in up to his chest. I had to hold him the entire time but he loved it still. I should have gotten a pic of this giant tub but I didn't...I was busy bathing kids! The girls had an indoor swimming pool!

Aidan did pretty well in the hotel.

However, sometimes he wouldn't leave my feet. Here he's sitting at my feet in the bathroom while I was getting ready for the day.

The girls enjoyed our bed as well as theirs. They didn't care where they were in the hotel as long as we were in one. They would live in a hotel if they could. They still talk about different hotels we've stayed in as if it were yesterday.

We all had a good time. It was so convenient to just walk across the street and go shopping. The kids did amazingly well for going clothes shopping and having no toys to go look at.

Jaime thought of everything. Not only did he book a suite on the top floor with views, be across from shopping, but we also got free breakfast in our summer package that he booked. Now this wasn't just some continental breakfast with cereal (however, they did have that) but it was a huge buffet with eggs, fruit, meat, oatmeal, pancakes, toast anything! like bread, muffins, or bagels, potatoes. It was so delish! We were all able to find something to eat including Livie!

  1. How nice! Makes me want to go somewhere just so I can hang out in a sweet hotel room. Aren't those breakfasts awesome? The only time Chad and I got one was the morning after our honeymoon stay at the Embassy Suites. We had to rush, though, because we were driving that morning to Washington for our open house. I could have stayed at the hotel all day eating food and relaxing.
