Life on the Beach

After we left Portland we headed for Seaside to stay at Fort Steven's with a bunch of Jaime's family. We go every year. Everyone brings their trailers and tents and we usually stay in a yurt. It's kind of like a tent and cabin combined. Power but no water or bathroom. We had to walk to the showers and bathrooms but that wasn't too far. However, it was far enough for me to not want to get out of bed at 5 a.m. to use the facilities. I just waited as long as I could and went back to sleep. :)

Here's Aidan in the yurt. It was one of the few places that he was able to be down and crawl on his own. The other place was in Jaime's parents' trailer.

Everyone enjoyed hanging out in the trailer and eating snacks. :)

Lindsey enjoyed being outside. She played with her second cousin Macy all the time.

It's Tillamook's 100th Anniversary this year so the weekend that we were there the Tillamook cheese factory was having a dairy fair. The girls had a great time playing games, getting face painted, eating ice cream, and even trying to milk a pretend cow. Lindsey thought that was fun.

They got to have lots of pictures taken. This is the cheese mascott, Loafie the loaf of cheese. Cute!

The girls took a "cruise" in the cheese car.

The girls had a great time spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Morales.

There was a lot of sand at Aunt Marcie and Uncle Ruben's campsite next to ours so the girls got out their sand stuff and played in the sand even when we weren't at the beach.

They buried pine cones and their feet. Then they'd dig up the pine cones like they found buried treasure.

Aidan really enjoyed the beach. He liked to watch the water, feel the sand, and he was intrigued by the seagulls. They'd walk up pretty close to where we were.

We put a 'beach blanket' out for Aidan to sit on. He had some blocks and he stayed put! He liked to reach over the side and feel the sand but he never tried to crawl off and into the sand. He had a great time, I love these pics of him.
