The After Party

The reception was beautiful. I'm so grateful to all those who helped and I was so excited to see things I had envisioned turn out so well.

The food spread was amazing.

From salty and savory dips like gouda with peppers, artichoke spinach dip, meats, and cheeses, caprese sticks (mozzarella balls, basil, tomato, with a salami rose and balsamic drizzle;

to many sweets like cookies, chocolate mousse with salted caramel, coconut cupcakes, pavlova with fresh raspberries, and pan cotta with raspberry sauce,

The table was set up by Christy, her mom Deborah and Darin.

Everything looked so elegant.

The sign in book and gift table. Lindsey and Issac are sure loved. They had so many friends and family come to support and give generously.

The cake turned out beautifully! The top layer was vanilla with raspberry mousse. The bottom layer was chocolate with raspberry mousse and it was all frosted with a Swiss meringue icing then adorned with real flowers. It was all assembled and displayed beautifully. I love the uplighting in the sheers behind the cake in this picture. Wedding classic. I love it.

Gorgeous couple!

Lindsey with her nieces.                                      Bel and Chris.

I got one quick pick of the hall at the beginning before it go too full.

Aide, Liandrew and Marcus                                        Aunt Emily

Olivia, Lindsey with their cousins Emma and Jacob. These 4 have been good friends since they were young. I've recently learned how much of an example Lindsey has been for Jacob. I'm grateful for their relationship and positive influences they are all able to have on one another.

The couple with Lindsey's Grandparents. The Morales and Naylor Grandparents.

Time to cut the cake. And kindly they served each other, representing how they will serve one another throughout their marriage. Lindsey was so cute to comment on how good the cake was after her bite. It didn't take long for that cake to be cut up and the line to form to get a taste of this delicious cake!

Forever and ever.

Time for the first dance.

They danced to "Take Forever (Hally's Song) by Alan Cooper
The words are so sweet. I love that they have this.

So magical and they felt like they were in that moment alone. The time to enjoy a moment to themselves and think about the song they chose to be theirs.

But then a new song started....the Imperial March.

Darth Vader's song and Jaime came strolling up to Lindsey to take her in his arms for his father daughter dance. Their love of Star Wars was just perfect for this intro into the song Jaime had chosen for them to dance to - "It's Been a Long Time" by Kitty Kallen. If you know Lindsey you know she loves older music. This song is also the song Captain America dances to when he gets to go back to Peggy at the end of the Avengers. It makes Lindsey cry every time and you betcha, she cried while dancing with her dad to this song. He was so good to have a sweet conversation with her during the dance. The music begins to fade and then

an upbeat song started! Mr. B Combo's "Get Lucky." Now if you know Jaime, he's not comfortable dancing but he did it! He looked so good out there dancing with Lindsey and keeping to the beat. It was a great way to get the dance started.

And boy did we have a dance! We had so much fun. This picture of Lindsey and Grandpa Naylor is so cute. So special she got to dance with him on her wedding day. My Dad loves to dance and he was so cute. He'd go dance with all his daughters, granddaughters and my Mom.
The dance was so much fun. We have some great videos of family members busting out moves we didn't know they had! Or others that liked to just flap around and make everyone laugh. All in all it was just a good time celebrating and being together with friends and family. It was what Lindsey wanted and I'm so glad it was delivered.

My boys! They look so grown up now. They're so capable and willing to help. They were big helps in setting up for the reception and taking it all down. Such handsome young men! I love that we got a picture in the mirror. "You look stunning! Now get out there and dance. Isaac & Lindsey Steffes 8.24.2024" My friend made it for the reception. What a cute touch of decor.

Elizabeth and Malachi got to dance. It was touching and a hard moment for her but we were glad to see he's doing well. We were so surprised when he walked in and came down the line to say hello to us.

Lindsey's friend Hayley and her mom came. We don't see them much since they moved but Lindsey and Hayley were good friends in school when they were younger.

The reception would have lasted longer had we not cut the music and turned up the lights. haha. We sent Lindsey and Isaac off on their way and then got right on to taking down and cleaning up. I appreciated friends who just stayed afterwards and took initiative to help clean up without even being asked!
By the time we were done Jaime, Olivia, Darin, and Christy and I just sat in our living room talking till almost 1 am. It was our decompress time. :) We enjoyed the time to actually sit and visit and not have an agenda to get to. I loved that Christy shared her talents of baking to help with the reception, and Darin and Christy helping with set up and getting flowers up in places that they just saw could use it. It was so fun to have them stay at our house that allowed us the time to visit late that evening.
