What a Christmas Gift

Darin and Christy came over to go to the holiday light drive through display and then have dinner with us afterwards. We loaded in to three cars and headed out to see the lights. 
We got there before dark so it wasn't opened yet, but good news we were the first ones there so we didn't have to wait in the long line moving slowly waiting to get in while other cars were driving through. 
It was a space/alien theme. I thought it was actually pretty cute. The Christmas music the aliens and Christmas trees would sing was so cute. 



Bel and Chris stayed behind without letting the others know. Jaime and I knew because we were all in the know that Chaz was going to the house to set up to propose! We were in Darin and Christy's car (Jaime drove though) so we let them in the know. After we were done driving through the light show Jaime raced back to the house to get there before the other cars and Olivia because Bel said she couldn't get the outside lights on. We got there and went in the back yard. Jaime worked on the lights right away and thankfully he was able to get them on.

I hid behind a truck in the back and recorded the proposal. (Lights are on!)

It was just the cutest. He did such a good job setting it all up. 

She said yes! She had no idea he was going to ask her on Christmas Day. He knew it would be a surprise because they both had things to do with their own families and weren't planning to see each other. That's why he came on Christmas Eve so they could see each other. So his plan to surprise her definitely worked!


Both my girls marrying a 6ft tall man. These girls are going to test their parents genes. hahaha

After we all went and congratulated them, we let Olivia and Chaz sit outside and have some time alone. The rest of us went in for dinner. We had tamales and pozole again. I love the pozole so I was more than happy to have some again. For dessert, Christy made yummy mousse domes and another carmely dessert. It just added to making the evening special. 

At the end of the evening we relaxed in the hot tub. Tyler, Liandrew, and Valeria got in the pool but I needed just time to sit in the hot water and relax.

Night swims!  Laying out in the sun during the day!  I like coming to Arizona because the evenings it's still warm outside that we can be out playing and having a good time but not sweltering hot. The days are so hot but it's great to be out poolside and then dip in the pool to cool off.  Koda has picked his person between Marty and Diana. He likes to follow Diana when I'm not around. Happy Father's Day Jaime

Breakfast for Jaime. Banana pancakes, bacon, hash browns and OJ.  Aidan and Tyler wanted to make cookies with Jaime for Father's Day. I thought it was such a sweet gesture. Olivia was a bit bummed she couldn't be here for it as she feels it's been a thing for her and Jaime to make chocolate chip cookies together. I told her she's here in spirit. The kids all called Jaime to wish him a Happy Father's Day. We need to enjoy these last few years of having kids home for these smaller holidays. Before I know it we won't have any of them here for them.  P.S. Can't believe I didn't get a picture of Jaime with the boys!

Promptings

 I went to the temple today to do an endowment session with my Aunt Laurel who is visiting and staying at my parents for a few days. Mom and Dad were leading the session so it was fun for all four of us to be in there. It was a very full session of women. There were 31 women and 8 men! 39 of the 40 seats were full. I've been in sessions and lead sessions that had 42-46 people (folding chairs were brought in to accommodate after 40). But never have had this many sisters.  I used to have such anxiety going to the temple. So nervous about remembering what I was supposed to do and say. Being a temple worker definitely has helped ease that now that I know what to do and say more easily. It makes it so that I can focus on the words more and not stress about what's next. After I crossed into the Celestial room I had the overwhelming feeling of how happy I felt. The thought came to my mind, "Being prepared makes such a difference." I thought yes it does!
