Perks of Lacrosse

Image
We had our turn at hosting a lacrosse tournament in Pasco. The people who head up our Tri-Cities Youth Lacrosse say they want this to be a family type experience. I must say they really do try to put that effort in to it. So many people are kind and they mean it when they say the snacks at the team tent are for all family members. We've had great snacks and BBQ and no one ever turns away a kid just because they don't play lacrosse. Well today was no different. The parents of a boy on Aidan's team own a food truck. They were selling and serving food at the tournament. They were so kind to let my kids and other players hang around and on the truck each and drinking snacks. It was fun to see these little friendships grow throughout the season. I can handle the lacrosse games and tournaments, I think they're really fun. I just wish that we could have more games closer to home. If Aidan does this again next year, I won't be too thrilled with the distance of some of ...

Aidan's Turn to Sing

Image
I've been watching my girls do a lot of choir things recently. Today it was Aidan's turn.  His concert was during the school day, Yay! Look! You can see he sees me.  He's such a good little singer.  He did a great job. It was a mother's day program. They started off by showing a video from the History channel explaining how Mother's Day was created and got started. Then they sung different songs about moms, in English and Spanish. Thank you Aidan for singing to me. I know he understands the words and was happy I could come listen to him sing to me.

Baseball

Tyler is always so excited for his baseball practices and games. Look at him rockin' it after he made it to first base. 😄 Tyler on his way to home plate! Jaime did a good job coaching. I'm also very grateful that he did do this. It made for one more weekly event that I didn't have to rush to like tennis, lacrosse, and choir. It truly was a help to me. I was able to get dinner on and have them eat before they left to practice and I didn't need to feel rushed. Thank you Jaime. And the best part, Tyler loved that his dad was the coach.  Swing batter! The intensity is there! Making it to first...way to go Tyler!!!

May the Fourth Be With You

Aidan's Lacrosse team. He had such a fun year. He never complained about going to practice or games. He wants to do it again next year. He's not super aggressive at fighting for the ball but he definitely improved over the season. If he does continue on and play next season he will be in the 3/4 grade level and will have even more games and some two day tournaments. Many of them are far away like Spokane and Wenatchee. That I'm not too fond of. Jaime really wanted this for Aidan though so we will give it another go around and see if Aidan truly wants to continue with it after a longer season.  I wasn't planning on doing anything for May 4th. With tennis, choir for both girls, and lacrosse I felt like I had a million things to make it to each week. So my drive to do something fun for this day wasn't there. But before the kids all left for school this morning they all talked about the fun and what kinds of food we'd have for our May the Fourth Be With You...

Elite Choir Experiences

Image
Both Lindsey and Olivia didn't want to do choir or sing in front of others. They both were part of some amazing choir experiences this year and they both LOVE to sing and be in choir now.  Olivia was selected by her music teacher to go and participate in a day long "choir camp" type thing to sing with kids from all over the district. Choristers from middle and high school came to work with the kids.  There were so many kids! The musical numbers all sounded so good. Lots of talent in this group.  While Olivia (and Emily) spent the day at choir, Jaime and I and the rest of the kids were at a lacrosse tournament with Aidan. Luckily it was in Kennewick so when it was time for the choir concert I was able to leave lacrosse and go watch Olivia. When it was over I took Olivia and Emily back to the lacrosse tournament. These are the eight students chosen from Olivia's school.  After Aidan's game it was already past dinner time and we neede...

In With The New

Before During After Georgous!!! We ran the new floors throughout the main floor except for under the stairs and the bedroom. Now we just need to find someone to put in the new baseboards we want to get.

Making Some Changes

Image
We have done a lot of hunting around and looking at houses. Met with multiple realtors, looked at different house plans and areas to build a new house, weighed pros and cons to moving. Honestly, I don't want to deal with building a new house right now, I like the location of our current house, and we've decided it'd be cheaper to make some of the changes in our home to things we liked and wanted if we built a new house.  So I took a few pictures of our house as it is before changes.  As I look at this picture I think "How did I live with that?" I don't like the way it looks at all from the look of this picture. I'm not quite sure how I'll change this up but I hope to be able to. The piano is not something fun to decorate around.  Furniture is all moved out and the carpet is now ready to be pulled up. Yes it's vacuumed. :) Jaime's parents are planning on taking the carpet to replace in a couple rooms at their house  Carp...
