Halloween 2017

Image
October 28th we went to Price's annual Halloween party. Costumes are required to go.  I have a hard time coming up with costume ideas. Well I don't have a hard time coming up with ideas it's just getting the costume together. I could do lots of costumes if I put the money in to it but I don't want to spend too much. We decided to play off Jaime's lack of a left hand. I'm a angry wife who cut off Jaime's hand. The costume was a big hit. Honestly I was surprised at how many people liked it! This picture makes me laugh. Jaime was smiling, I was playing my part. (We switched rolls at the ward Halloween Party.) We had so much fun at the party. The games were fun and had us all busting at the seams laughing. My cheeks hurt so much! October 29th The ward Halloween Party. Notice my smile and Jaime's scared look. Hahaha. The ward party turned out well too. The Relief Society was responsible for putting it on so it was a pretty stressful last few day

Just Because

October 22 we went to Prosser for Carson Anderson's baptism. As always the kids pick up where they left off with their friends. No problems getting together and hanging out. After the baptism everyone was eating refreshments. I heard some "Heart and Soul" piano playing and went to see who it was. Alex and Olivia!! October 26th Olivia had a fun exercise at her "Activity Day" on Wednesday. The girls in her group all wrote things about Olivia. What a great way for the girls to think of positive things about their friends and let them know how they feel about each other.  October 28th I was given a form from the school to update the kids' health information. I decided I should put down Aidan's allergy to cashews. Well that opened up a whole new can of worms. The school nurse called and said I needed to have medicine from Aidan's doctor with a health plan of what to do even thought I told her I just give him Benadryl. He knows he

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Halloween

Aidan and Tyler were given Jiffy Pop popcorn from their Grandma Morales. On the evening of October 21st we were home while Jaime was gone to a meeting and Lindsey was gone volunteering time at another school for a Halloween event. So we thought movie and a fun was to make popcorn was a fun thing to do. Emily stepped in to help since the boys arms were getting tired. Using an air popper or microwave is definitely an easier and quicker route to yummy popcorn! But the experience of watching the foil pan get bigger was fun.  While at the school Halloween event Lindsey got her face painted to look like Hedwig the owl from the Harry Potter series. The artist did a pretty good job!  October 26th...Time to carve pumpkins! Tyler and Aidan picked out their own pumpkins from the store. They got big ones...takes longer to clean out. But they were troopers and worked hard and long.  Olivia picked a pretty large pumpkin too! They chose pictures to trace and then cut

Good Things

Today Aidan was reading my Chatbooks (small printed photo books from my instagram account.) to Grandpa Noble. Aidan read each page and Grandpa sat patiently listening to Aidan read. He seemed to enjoy the time with Aidan. I'm grateful my kids can have small moments like this to create memories with their Great Grandpa.  I liked this quote on the board at church. It made me think of Bel. She definitely fits this definition.

School Activities

Lindsey is doing volleyball at school this year. She didn't make it on the A or B team. They have almost 100 girls try out. Rather than cutting girls they make "club volleyball" teams. Pretty much intramural volleyball. They have five 7th grade teams. So Lindsey gets quite a bit of playing time. They have games each week.  I enjoy going to watch her games. They're all still learning but I've seen definite improvement from game to game.  Maya Angelou Annual Color Run Jaime and I ran with the boys for the color run again this year. It really is a fun family event. A lot of work goes in to it.  Aidan was my running buddy this year. While he had to take breaks and walk last year, this year he ran the entire mile. He gives me a pretty good running pace! He may be my runner who does track. ;) Tyler and Jaime walking across the finish. Tyler's trying to shield himself from the colored powder. I could do without the powder. One girl just

Family Photos

My friend Sarah took our family pictures for us this year. She hauled her couch outside for us! It's a small couch but still. It's a newer couch of hers. But I will admit, the pictures turned out well with the couch sitting outside. :) She does such a good job at taking our pictures. I'll be sending Christmas cards this year. I didn't last year. Just too much going on. So it's been a couple years since we had our family pictures taken.  After pictures we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Lindsey just looked so grown up and beautiful sitting across from me. I remember when she was a baby, toddler, child, now a preteen. I see her every day but I don't see the changes actually happen as she grows but at the same time she's changing right before my eyes. In a few short years she will be making plans to leave for college. Oh heaven help me! Sending my babies off to kindergarten and school each year are hard enough.

Birthday Getaway

Jaime arranged for us to go on a weekend getaway together for my birthday. It really is the best present he gets me. He doesn't need to get me anything else. I love the time with him. The time to relax and catch up with him. This time we did go to the Davenport Grande in Spokane, same as last year, but just for Friday night. Saturday we did some shopping and then headed on over to Coeur d'Alene Resort in Idaho.  Just beautiful. This is the view from our balcony. The dinner at one of the restaurants in the resort was so good. I asked for a seat at the window by the water and the waiter took us right to it. We beat the rush. More and more guests began arriving after we got there.  I tried something new...which is hard for me to do. I hate to spend money on an unknown dish and then not really care for it and wish that I went with something that'd be more familiar to me. However, this time I got something new and I know I'd get again if we
