Mini Mission

The youth of our ward were called on mini missions. Lindsey and Olivia were hesitant for this activity. They didn't know what to expect. They knew they'd be doing a service project and were told to dress warm and in clothes you can get dirty. They were worried about that.

Lindsey was called to Salt Lake City Family History Mission. Olivia was called to Anaheim, CA. Their mission presidents actually served in those missions so they were taught about the exact mission. Lindsey loved, I mean LOVED her mission! She said that was where she wants to go to serve her real mission. They both had so much fun a great experiences.

The service project was cleaning out horse stalls and grounds at a horse camp for special needs kids. Turns out they had a lot of fun working together with the other missionaries and leaders. :) It wasn't as bad as they were anticipating it to be.

Olivia's mission

Every mission went to member homes for dinner. We had some of Olivia's mission members in our home for dinner and some from another mission. Olivia did not eat with us though. They made sure kids didn't eat in their own homes. Haha Each missionary set gave a spiritual message. After dinner they all met at a home for a fireside. They said the spirit was very strong and it was a very enjoyable day. What turned out to be what they thought, a long boring day from sun up till 9pm, turned in to being a great testimony builder and experience they'll never forget. The youth leaders in our ward did a lot of work and prep for this. I'm so grateful for their efforts and continual ideas to help our youth stretch themselves and grow.
