Learning to be Happy with Myself

Do you know that I have ice cream multiple times a week! The best part, I've lost weight, changed body composition and have more muscle definition. I've been learning how to count macros and I've gotten pretty good at meeting my macro numbers. Getting the right amount of protein, fats, and carbs that my body needs to support my body during my workouts and throughout my day has definitely made a difference. I haven't cut out all treats but I've learned that I can have them just in the right amounts so I don't feel like I'm missing out or craving something "bad" for me. One of the ways I appease my sweet tooth is by making my protein ice cream. This one in the picture is one of my favorites. Caramel churro ice cream. Other favorites I like to make are chocolate banana, chocolate mint cookie, s'mores, and even my own pumpkin açaí bowl. So delish! Our family's all time favorite evening snack is the "Nightly Chocolate Shake" with so many yummy toppings. I feel like I'm in a good place right now with my health and energy. Generally we look back and think, "man I was thinner then, or looked prettier back then." But I want to make note that now in my current phase of life, I am happy with myself. It hasn't always been that way for me. I've hated myself for many different reasons. I've nit picked at my body and wanted to wish away lots of things that could change about it. It feels good to take control and have actual science that I've enjoyed learning about nutrition and how it plays a part in what I'm doing for myself. I'm not one to ever feel overly confident in my knowledge so this isn't something I share very often. But what I've learned makes sense to me and I've been able to put it to use in my life and seen results! I started with a cut in my macros and then a reverse in my macros working my way up to maintenance, where I want to be most of the time. As I continue to weight lift and built muscle I'll eventually do another cut of my macros. I've loved seeing the progress and look forward to experimenting and implementing this more in my life.
