Sunday Thoughts

I know that I have a lot to catch up on but tonight as I'm heading to bed I was thinking about today. I felt the spirit so much and I love how I feel. Saturday I watched the RS general conference meeting. I loved how the 2nd counselor of the RS talked about a mother who didn't feel she got much out of sacrament meeting. (I could definitely relate!) so this mother decided to think about her week and what she needed to repent of on Saturday so that she already knew what she needed to repent of during the sacrament on Sunday. I thought that was a smart idea so I tried it. It made today's sacrament meeting a bit easier for me. We had testimony meeting today and I heard some great ones that touched me. Yes I still had my disturbances dealing with kids but I actually felt the spirit and even better...I got the confirming answer of something I had been praying about all week. I wondered if it was just my thought or an answer from my Father in Heaven for real. But then I realized t...

So, technically I have 3 in school...

I'm doing a Preschool co-op of eight kids with six other moms. Tyler is the age as many of the other kids but I decided to only put Aidan in. Tyler needs a bit more free-range time I think. Sunday school is all he can really handle with being told to sit still. He does miss having Aidan to play with, however. Now on the other hand, Aidan is definitely ready! So every Tuesday and Thursday for a couple hours he's in "school." Aidan was ecstatic to go to preschool.  Practicing name writing.  Aidan is the one on the corner (in the right of the picture) with the yellow marker, concentrating so hard. What a good student he is. Snack Time! The Class Liam, Aidan, Derek, Henry, Avery, Eva, John, Noah He LOVED his first day. He's happy to get dressed and ready for school in the morning like the girls. I never have to tell him twice to get ready. Next year he will be in Kindergarten and the year after goes Tyler to Kindergarten. I'll be a...

Man Alive he's 5!!

Aidan's 5th Birthday Party was celebrated on Saturday August 31, 2013 It was a simple gathering with Grandma and Grandpa Morales and Aunt Bel...and Kevin. Aunt Bel brought Kevin, the giant Minion from the movie Despicable Me. Aidan loves ice cream more than cake and he likes s'mores so we got him a Dairy Queen S'mores blizzard cake.  Presents! He's been asking for Captain Hook's ship the Jolly Roger. I love the way he says Jolly Roger. :) Knights to go with his Imaginext castle. He was so excited. Angry Birds Star Wars game! It's one he gets too. So fun. New Hot Wheels. Tyler enjoyed it as well! The girls enjoy the new toys too. No one was sure they wanted to beat the minion with a stick to get the candy and prizes out. So Grandpa to the rescue for Kevin! He dumped the candy out instead. It's almost as fun as beating a Piñata right?! The plan is to use it for Olivia's birthday party. Th...

I Was Thinking of Someone Today

Image
Someone who makes me happier than anyone else! He's amazing. I think I'm pretty good too. But when we're together... We're AWESOME! Jaime, you're the love of my life. I'm so blessed to have you.  Love, Lisa

The First Day of School

Image
It doesn't matter how many times the first day of school rolls around or how many kids I have, sending kids off to school is always hard for me. It is fun seeing the girls excited about their new clothes and finding out who will be in their class this year but I don't feel quite the same excitement.  Last night for FHE Jaime gave father's blessings to the kids before school started. He gave AMAZING and such inspired blessings. Tyler asked for one also even though he had a hard time sitting still for the other 3 to have theirs given. Jaime even gave me a blessing. Even though I'm not going to school (thank goodness) I still can use the love and support that was given in the blessing.  After everyone received their blessing we knelt down and had family prayer (before treat. Heaven forbid we forget the treat! Aidan was sure to not let us). It was my turn to give the prayer. I cried as I asked our Father in Heaven to protect our children as they are away from our home ...

Swim Lessons

Image
(Just an FYI but you will probably need to click older posts to read all of my recent posts!) The kids and I spent a week (August 11-16) at my mom's so Jaime's cousin could give Lindsey and Olivia swim lessons. It was a great arrangement. They'd have lessons at 11 a.m. and I was able to can some beans.  They learned so quickly. Olivia prefers the back stroke and Lindsey prefers the breast stroke but they both did well in all the styles they learned.  Diving.  Tyler learned to go under water and hold his breath for a few seconds. He likes to wear goggles and go under water and wave to anyone under water with him.  Aidan and Tyler both discovered they could walk on toes in the shallow end. Aidan doesn't like getting his ears wet or his face. It was fun to watch him try to tip his head to the side to get his ear wet, just the lobe but he felt like he accomplished something.  I like being able to swim in the pool and not have to hold a littl...

Weekend fun with Aunt Bel

Image
On August 9th I took the kids over to their Aunt Bel's house for some fun and a sleep over.  (Which means another date night for Jaime and me!) Her and Chris took them to see the movie Planes Friday night and spoiled them with a yummy dinner and lots of fun at a sleep over at their house. On Saturday they went to see Chris' delivery truck. Tyler is a huge truck fanatic. He calls all semi trucks Mack as in Mack from the Pixar movie Cars. They each got a turn in the orange "Mack." Tyler first! Lindsey Aidan Olivia ready to honk the horn.  With the kids being gone an entire week and then gone the following weekend made me see Aidan a little differently. He looks so much older, and taller! The other three all looked the same to me but Aidan I could tell is a boy and no longer a toddler. Tyler is my last "little" one and I do enjoy the moments of cuddling with him. During these days they've been away I've also spent more qual...
