9 Years and Counting...

December 27th was our 9th anniversary.

It wasn't the typical anniversary celebration we like to have but we were still able to express our love to each other. Starting around 12:30 a.m. that morning (we still hadn't gone to bed yet Monday as we had another late night watching a movie) we were able to say happy anniversary. Jaime brought me sweet and simple flowers. We usually go to the Mexican restaurant where our wedding party and guests went to have dinner after our wedding. But this anniversary was different. Jaime's grandpa, Eusebio Palacios died on Friday the 23rd and his memorial service happened to be on the 27th at 6 p.m. We wouldn't miss it and were glad to attend. It was hard to see Jaime's mom and sisters crying together. Jaime did a good job reading the obituary during the service. Grandpa Palacios was a wonderful father and grandfather.
We will all miss him but know that he's happy and feeling better now.

My photo books are still in a box so this is the best picture
I could find of Jaime's Grandpa and Grandma Palacios.

After the memorial we went to pick up our kids from the sitter then head back home around 8:30. As we were almost home Aidan said in his sweet, endearing voice, "Dad I want some chicken." Jaime said he couldn't resist (didn't hurt that Jaime was hungry since we hadn't had dinner yet) and got Aidan's chicken and took orders from the rest of us. We got dinner items from McDonalds, Sonic, and Panda Express and ate it at home. He told the kids not to get used to this. It turned out we sort of did get to eat out for our anniversary. We had a wonderful time with our kids as well.

I've loved the last 9 years and plan on loving the next 9 and many, many more!! We are madly in love and I can't imagine my life without him.

Happy anniversary Jaime!! We'll do something special for number 10.
