Happy Birthday Dad & Mom

 

Mom and Dad have everyone over for a family birthday dinner each month. Those who are around and able to go meet at mom and dad's and we have dinner, then sing happy birthday to those who have a birthday that month and make sure to remember those who aren't there and have a birthday that month. 
Well this month the date didn't seem to work for Elizabeth and Mom asked if we should move the date for the dinner or just skip it. Lori was fine skipping it. I told mom I don't think we should skip on your birthday month since you make dinner for everyone else every month! 

So I invited them to my house! Jaime and I made dinner for them. Jaime grilled Tri tip, I made mashed potatoes (not smashed), salad, and green beans. 

For dessert Dad asked if we could have the German chocolate sundae that we had replicated one time from dinner at LuLu craft bar & kitchen restaurant. So we got all that we needed to make that happen. 

Everything turned out delicious. 

After dinner, dessert, and visiting it was time to ordain Aidan to the office of a teacher in the priesthood. It was neat to have Dad there to assist Jaime. 

Jaime had already set the chair back so Aidan had to chase down a hug. lol Then he was so cute going around the room giving everyone else a hug including Great Grandpa Noble and each one of this siblings :)

For Unto Us A Child Is Born

On Wednesday December 16th I went to the hospital at 7 a.m. to start my induction. I was already dialated to a 3 and dr. said if I wanted to have the baby I could. I didn't want to be in the hospital or recovering too close to Christmas with my entire family home for the season so I said sure! I was finally underway at 8 a.m. with pitocin. The rest of the morning and afternoon was spent in boredom and watching tv with Jaime at my side. At around 12:45 the dr. came to break my water because that usually gets things going quick. My kids have all arrived shortly after the water breaks. However, since the baby's head kind of floated up he decided to wait a bit to not risk the umbilical cord coming out first or wringing around the baby's neck. Bummer! I was so disappointed. So, on to more waiting, turning up the pitocin...again. Finally at 3:30 p.m. I was having some strong contractions and dialated 5-6. SURPISE!!!!

Yes, this is true. And yes....this will be our newest addition to the family. You think you're surprised! Just imagine how surprised I was! Big time let me tell you. And in case you are wondering, I am just starting my first week of month number five. Yes, I am in my second trimester already. Hard to believe it's really gone that fast. I haven't been sick at all. It's been very nice. I could easily not know that I was pregnant because I don't feel like I am. This explains why I haven't been sick. It's a boy. I wasn't sick with Aidan either. I kind of figured it was a boy and this morning confirmed that it was. Here's the little guy in action. , We got up a little after 6 a.m. and got ready to head to the hospital. My mom showed up at 6:45 to watch the other three at home for us. Thanks Mom! The Past Week...

This past week has been a pretty laid back one. I've been getting things done on my own schedule...whenever I feel like it. Haha! Took the boys to the library, I've been making time (a.k.a. not working) to read a book for my own enjoyment, planted some flowers, made a few trips to the park with the kids, done a bit of shopping (grocery shopping at Winco is a lot of work with just me and the boys and I really have to gear up for it.), and I have been playing Sorry and Hi Ho Cherry O with Aidan quite a bit. So I have been busy just not with the normal stuff that keeps me busy on a daily basis.  I love browsing Costco with Jaime and my kids in the evening of a week day. It's not very crowded then. If there's a fun movie on the TVs we like to stop and watch a little. We stopped to watch a bit of the Avenger's in 3D...hence Aidan's glasses. :) I spent a day at Mom's with the boys.
