Too Soon

 It's happening all too soon. My kids are just growing up! Today I stood in the garage watching both Lindsey and Olivia pull out in separate cars to drive off to either work or softball. They're becoming more independent and able to go about their day without much help from me. It's an odd feeling and one that made me stand in the garage fighting back tears. 

We take Lindsey to Rexburg next week and our home will no longer house 6 people on the daily. Lindsey is really a wonderful friend of mine. We get along so well as mother and daughter as well as friend to friend. She's not over eager to leave the house and go to college and live on her own. She knows she will miss hanging out with all of us. Just as she's been packing up her room she's had moments of tears because the day is coming up when she will be going. 

Just a brief post to document how I'm feeling right now. 

On a more up beat note...today is the 20th anniversary of when Jaime asked me to marry him. Actually, the words he asked was if I'd give him the honor of being my husband. 💓 It doesn't seem that long ago but at the same time, thinking about our lives together and how old our kids are and what phase of life they're in, makes that day of our engagement seem so long ago. 

Also, today is our 19th temple anniversary. We got sealed a year after our engagement. It's kinda fun having an August anniversary and then our December wedding anniversary. This year is 20 years! So we're planning a fun trip in the tropics. :)

On Wednesday December 16th I went to the hospital at 7 a.m. to start my induction. I was already dialated to a 3 and dr. said if I wanted to have the baby I could. I didn't want to be in the hospital or recovering too close to Christmas with my entire family home for the season so I said sure! I was finally underway at 8 a.m. with pitocin. The rest of the morning and afternoon was spent in boredom and watching tv with Jaime at my side. At around 12:45 the dr. came to break my water because that usually gets things going quick. My kids have all arrived shortly after the water breaks. However, since the baby's head kind of floated up he decided to wait a bit to not risk the umbilical cord coming out first or wringing around the baby's neck. Bummer! I was so disappointed. So, on to more waiting, turning up the pitocin...again. Finally at 3:30 p.m. I was having some strong contractions and dialated 5-6. SURPISE!!!!

Yes, this is true. And yes....this will be our newest addition to the family. You think you're surprised! Just imagine how surprised I was! Big time let me tell you. And in case you are wondering, I am just starting my first week of month number five. Yes, I am in my second trimester already. Hard to believe it's really gone that fast. I haven't been sick at all. It's been very nice. I could easily not know that I was pregnant because I don't feel like I am. This explains why I haven't been sick. It's a boy. I wasn't sick with Aidan either. I kind of figured it was a boy and this morning confirmed that it was. Here's the little guy in action. , We got up a little after 6 a.m. and got ready to head to the hospital. My mom showed up at 6:45 to watch the other three at home for us. Thanks Mom! The Past Week...

This past week has been a pretty laid back one. I've been getting things done on my own schedule...whenever I feel like it. Haha! Took the boys to the library, I've been making time (a.k.a. not working) to read a book for my own enjoyment, planted some flowers, made a few trips to the park with the kids, done a bit of shopping (grocery shopping at Winco is a lot of work with just me and the boys and I really have to gear up for it.), and I have been playing Sorry and Hi Ho Cherry O with Aidan quite a bit. So I have been busy just not with the normal stuff that keeps me busy on a daily basis.  I love browsing Costco with Jaime and my kids in the evening of a week day. It's not very crowded then. If there's a fun movie on the TVs we like to stop and watch a little. We stopped to watch a bit of the Avenger's in 3D...hence Aidan's glasses. :) I spent a day at Mom's with the boys.
