On July 19th because of cyber security breach called Crowdstrike our flight to Hawaii was canceled! The rest of Jaime's family was able to make it because they were flying on different airlines other than Delta. The girls were flying with Bel and Chris so they were able to make but Jaime, the boys and I looked like we weren't going to make it. I was so bummed! Brian hopped online and helped search for other flights that we could possibly get. We watched some seats get purchased right before out eyes so we missed out on other flights. Seats were filling up fast. I didn't want to wait a few days to fly out because then we'd miss half the week of the trip in Hawaii. We still had our regular return flight just no flight to get there. Brian was able to find us a flight the next day out of Portland. So Jaime rented a car and we drove from Pasco to Portland, stayed the night and flew out a day after everyone else.
What matters is that we made it! We drove from the airport to a little restaurant for lunch to meet up with everyone. It was such a sweet reunion.
We spent the afternoon swimming and hanging out at the rental house.
And had a 'luau' BBQ for dinner.
Always good meat cooking when these two are behind the grill.
The boy's room. Kinda funny seeing Gordon, Tyler, and Aidan all on different beds playing games together. It's fun to hear them converse as they play on different devices but the same game.
Morning walk on the beach and looking back at the island.
Sunday morning we got up early to watch the sun rise out of the ocean! Normally we see it set into the ocean but where we were on the island we got a different view of it.
The ones who wanted to go to the beach early this morning.
I can't say enough good things about these good people! I couldn't have asked for a better family to marry in to and aunts and uncles for my children. These four are so good to our kids. I can really say that they love them like their own. I love them (and Liandrew) so much!
Lindsey was meant to be a mermaid. The girl loves the beach!
We attended a local sacrament meeting. I loved their building and landscaping! I thought it was just beautiful. I do love that we can recognize a ward building no matter where we go and the feeling during sacrament meeting is the same.
Beach time!
Tyler, Lindsey, Olivia, Chris, Bel, Marcus
Everyone enjoyed the blue waters..
either from in the water...
or from the sand. :)
