Years ago Jaime and I took the kids to stay at Olivia Beach for Spring Break. We liked walking around the neighborhood of our rental house looking at the other houses around. There was one house that was huge. Jaime fell in love with it and looked it up online. The Dawn Treader House. It was built for huge gatherings and family reunions. He said it'd be perfect for our family. Well, this year was the year! Lori and Stuart were in charge of the Naylor Family Reunion 2024 and decided to have it on the Oregon Coast. Jaime sent the house info to Lori and then Dad reached out to get it booked. Over 6,200 square feet of space for everyone to hang out, play, play games in the game room, workout in the gym, and watch movies and have popcorn made from the theater popcorn popper.
It's a real pretty looking house!
The two-story movie theater was a great place for family home evening and of course - movies.
Time at the beach exploring the tide pools.
Oh my Tyler, he's a teenager! A young man. Not the little boy he seemed to be just yesterday. He gets along with everyone. He really enjoyed his time with cousins at the reunion.
Lots of anemones and starfish
Beach walking together.
The cousins getting together to start their sand castle building.
They worked hard on it and spent lots of time.
The other cousins were good to include the little kids as well.
We went on a hike with Darin's family over the suspension bridge.
Makeala, Tyler, Aidan
Elise, and Olivia. Missing Lindsey! She had to stay home to work. Jacob didn't make it to the reunion either for the same reason.
I like getting out on hikes with Jaime.
Little rest stop for a snack and water break.
I can't say it enough how grateful I am that my kids are good friends! Their arguments are few and far between and just little arguments when they do have them. I was never this close with my siblings at this young age.
Tyler and Olivia are two peas in a pod.
Aidan enjoyed listening to the water fall and laying back to relax.
More time on the beach. We enjoyed just being outside visiting. That's what a reunion is for right? Reconnecting.
The kids loved the game room. This is pretty much where we could find them if they weren't in the theater room.
One evening Jaime told our kids that they were going to help clean up after dinner. They all came up without complaining - setting a great example so my siblings to their kids to come and help do the dishes as well.
The house had two kitchens but the small one was kept as the gluten free kitchen for prep of the gluten free foods. But the extra kitchen still came in handy.
They saw they could have fun working together. My sister was just amazed at how they all worked without complaining.
We went to the Alder House Glass Blowing to see some glass blowing. The kids thought it was pretty neat. Looking around at all the pieces they've been able to create.
Evening shenanigans. Girls doing the boys' hair. Tyler is such a good sport. Again, why he's always so likable.
We went out to watch the sun set with Darin, Christy, Brian, and Summer. It was at this reunion that Christy and I did some major wedding talk and she helped me make some decisions and even got her mom - a party planner! To want to come and help! I feel so blessed to have the help coming my way.
Hanging out with some of my favorite people on a beautiful evening.
Everyone had a good time at the reunion. We'll see each all again at Lindsey's wedding! This is kind of an exciting year. Because we have had Olivia's graduation, senior trip, and, Naylor Reunion, and Lindsey's wedding we will get to see our extended family multiple times this year!
