Blood Moon and Lunar Eclipse


On Sunday September 27th there was a full lunar eclipse blood moon. After church we went to have dinner at a friends house. While we were there we'd go out side every now and then and check the moon and watch as it gradually got darker in color.


It wasn't completely dark yet in this picture and the moon was still low.
As it was getting later we headed back home. The kids had set chairs up in the back yard to watch the eclipse. It felt magical as we all sat outside talking and looking up at the heavens. 



This is the kind of picture I got with my iPhone. It looks fuzzy and not really like a moon but that's what it is!

And then when we get out a REAL camera you can get a beautiful clear image. This looks more like what we were staring at.

And as the red creeped across the moon till all red was gone the giant super moon was so bright! It truly was beautiful. It almost looked like a brilliant white. I loved just sitting out in the yard with my family, talking about Heavenly Father's plan as we watched this heavenly show.

On Wednesday December 16th I went to the hospital at 7 a.m. to start my induction. I was already dialated to a 3 and dr. said if I wanted to have the baby I could. I didn't want to be in the hospital or recovering too close to Christmas with my entire family home for the season so I said sure! I was finally underway at 8 a.m. with pitocin. The rest of the morning and afternoon was spent in boredom and watching tv with Jaime at my side. At around 12:45 the dr. came to break my water because that usually gets things going quick. My kids have all arrived shortly after the water breaks. However, since the baby's head kind of floated up he decided to wait a bit to not risk the umbilical cord coming out first or wringing around the baby's neck. Bummer! I was so disappointed. So, on to more waiting, turning up the pitocin...again. Finally at 3:30 p.m. I was having some strong contractions and dialated 5-6. SURPISE!!!!

Yes, this is true. And yes....this will be our newest addition to the family. You think you're surprised! Just imagine how surprised I was! Big time let me tell you. And in case you are wondering, I am just starting my first week of month number five. Yes, I am in my second trimester already. Hard to believe it's really gone that fast. I haven't been sick at all. It's been very nice. I could easily not know that I was pregnant because I don't feel like I am. This explains why I haven't been sick. It's a boy. I wasn't sick with Aidan either. I kind of figured it was a boy and this morning confirmed that it was. Here's the little guy in action. , We got up a little after 6 a.m. and got ready to head to the hospital. My mom showed up at 6:45 to watch the other three at home for us. Thanks Mom! The Past Week...

This past week has been a pretty laid back one. I've been getting things done on my own schedule...whenever I feel like it. Haha! Took the boys to the library, I've been making time (a.k.a. not working) to read a book for my own enjoyment, planted some flowers, made a few trips to the park with the kids, done a bit of shopping (grocery shopping at Winco is a lot of work with just me and the boys and I really have to gear up for it.), and I have been playing Sorry and Hi Ho Cherry O with Aidan quite a bit. So I have been busy just not with the normal stuff that keeps me busy on a daily basis.  I love browsing Costco with Jaime and my kids in the evening of a week day. It's not very crowded then. If there's a fun movie on the TVs we like to stop and watch a little. We stopped to watch a bit of the Avenger's in 3D...hence Aidan's glasses. :) I spent a day at Mom's with the boys.
