How Our Days Have Been

When Jaime and I went away for my birthday Bel took the kids to Grandview to stay with Martin and Diana. On the way there they drove through a fire right next to the freeway. It was started by a VW Bug that caught on fire and sparks were blown by the wind to the dried brush and it spread fast. There was so much smoke they couldn't see a thing. Bel couldn't see anything but the lights of the car in front of her. She was afraid to stop and be hit by someone behind her who couldn't see her. She was smart and drove on the rumble strip so she knew where the road was until they got though the smoke. The kids could see the flames so close to them it really spooked them. It turned out it was good Bel kept on going. Other cars slowed down and couldn't see and ended up crashing in to each other. The road was closed for a long time.

When Tyler was in school one day he drew this picture. It's Bel's black Ford Edge driving by the fire on the side of the road. On the upper left of the page is the burned VW Bug. It was cute he wanted to draw it out.

Tyler wanted to make some eggs after school one day. They all helped crack the eggs and take turns scrambling them. I liked watching them work together and learning to do something in the kitchen.

Aidan's had a few lessons of piano and likes to get up and play. It's nice that he doesn't want to pound on the piano but actually play these simple songs he's learned.

The kids like to play in the leaves at Grandma Marcia's every fall.

Ren, Tyler, Aidan. They are good friends.  I found my phone with a few pictures they were taking of them selves together. :D
Lindsey had a science project of constructing an animal cell out of edible items. She and I had fun thinking of different pizza toppings that could work for each component of the cell.

The pizza box was the perfect finishing touch.

I came across this picture of my littles. So tiny and lots of squishy cheeks! They were all ready to head to their Aunt Elizabeth's wedding reception.
