Cameo Heights Mansion Getaway

After I took the kids to moms for the night I headed back home and waited for Jaime to get home from work. We met Sarah and Brandon Ritchie for dinner at Budd's Broiler. It's a pretty spendy place to eat but we wanted something different and nice. We were kind of celebrating Brandon and Jaime's birthdays as they both have them coming up this month. I tried caviar! It was pretty tasty. We had brie with crackers and fruit. Jaime had a yummy steak. I had the chicken cordon bleu. Wow was it good. And I loved their broccoli in the sauce from the chicken cordon bleu. For dessert Jaime and I shared the burnt creme brûlée. It was delicious.

As we enjoyed our dinner we noticed it kept snowing, harder and harder. We had our dessert brought out quickly after our main entree. If we didn't have anywhere else to go it'd be nice to take your time at this restaurant. We really enjoyed it.

We didn't have too bad of roads. Just took our time. We drove up to the mansion, lights everywhere. It looked so pretty in the falling snow.

This is a stock photo from their website. I didn't think to take a picture when we were there.

Everything was decorated for the season. I love the banister. So festive.

The view out from the french doors in our room.

You can sort of see the snow falling.

This is the little eating cove that looks out the french doors. We had our morning hot cocoa and danish here. The cocoa was so good. They bring the cocoa and danish on a tray at 8am (your wake up call) so you can get up and ready for breakfast at 9.

Each room has a different theme. Greek, Asian, Italian, etc. We stayed in the English sweet. Also known as the honeymoon suite. :)

Jaime likes to spoil me with nice places.

We were the last ones out and about with our friends Friday night. Most of the lights were off. It's a beautiful place. I love the glow of Christmas lights when the room lights are down. The owners had initially started building the house for their family but due to money issues they built it as a bed and breakfast instead. It took a while to get it continually booked but now they are always so full you have to book months out in advance.

The theater room. We watched the movie Unstoppable  and had popcorn and ice cream (all provided in the stay.)

Jaime and Brandon checking things out and talking.

By morning the snow had stopped and clouds parted. We had lovely sunshine coming in to the dining area. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast at a table set for the four of us. I like that they had separate tables for each couple that was there. Some bed and breakfasts have one table that everyone sits at. Because the owner knew we were there as a group they set a table specifically for four. The other tables were set for two. There was a yogurt and fruit bar and then we had three choices to choose from for our breakfast meal.

It was so fun being able to have time to just hang out with these guys. We had some good laughs. I like being able to have friends we can be ourselves with and have a good time.

Thanks for the weekend Jaime. It was a fun way to celebrate your birthday and our 14th anniversary.

I'm just as crazy and head over heels for him as ever.
